A New Pen From M&g

Looks a bit Muji-ish and the listing describes it as having an EF nib (not other options). So far it's only available in Taobao..

M&G is one of the top stationary and school supply companies in China. They make countless models of cheap but decent plastic fountain pens for student use. This is one of their top models for office use.

I've avoided buying these upper models because I can buy a tried and true Pilot for just a little more. That being said, the M&G school pens are great. I have an EF that is surprisingly smooth and cost me about 50 cents American.

By school pens do you mean those colourful plastic pens with cartoon prints? I think we have those here (might be a different brand though)..

well at least where I shop this M&G is only 1/3 the price of a Pilot Metropolitan so I do not think they really compare; and on a side note I actually am quite fond of M&G's student pens. they are very fun to play and experiment with.

They have some less-cartoonish ones with flower prints or patterns that I think are geared for High School and University students.

Yeah they are definitely cheap and fun to use. My only complaint is that almost all the M&G pens I can find in shops have hooded nibs and can't be taken apart for thorough cleaning, which kind of defeats the purpose for me having cheap pens. :P

Could you guys post some photos of the M&G pens you use (the ones that are good)? It should be a useful resource.

For one thing, M&G's reputation in my country is a maker of the cheapest gel pens, supplanting the Panda brand for that particular honour(?). I, for one, tried them briefly and they were so poor it made me decide to stick to fountain pens full time. This was before the fountain pen boom here, when I could not find replacement converters nor cartridges when the squeeze fillers on my 78Gs deformed through wear and were unusable. -_-

Found a photo of the bottom of the feed. Should fit Lamy nibs?

I have some M&G pens here, all but the left most and right most have hooded nib (the shiny chrome-ish type which I don't really like). They write reasonably well.

Thanks for sharing! I have seen the fourth from the right in our shores, I think. Chrome section, right?

Yes, I meant chrome sections.

AH, right! I'm not a fan of it either and actively avoid them. There's another pen from M&G. Looks very much like a Pilot Metropolitan with an understated flower design. It looks incredibly gorgeous but has that chrome section. -_-

I was browsing Aliexpress and found a listing for this pen here. I'm curious and I like the look of the black one, but not quite $21 USD curious.
