I want to buy Aion, but I think I need to wait for lamy to make some special edition in this following colours...

(Remember these image are edited, and doesn't represent Lamy company, this is just some of my suggestion).

I'd prefer a blue one. Or maybe a golden.

But for now I will buy the black one.

Hi Leogrando,

Knowing Lamy, they'll probably do it in Chartreuse.

Well, I would like a blue one. But I have ordered a black (due sometime in September) and I am not one to buy pens just for a change of coats.

So I probably won't own a blue....

Hi Leogrando,

Just to follow-up... I'd be hard-pressed to chooose... I like them all. :puddle:

But if you put a gun to my head, I'd have to decide between the brown or the copper while you were cocking the hammer. :D

Well... there's always hope that they'll listen. Be well. :)

Racing Green like the new Studio color coming out.

Hi there, KKay, et al,

Yes. :puddle:

I think I might just get one of those... even though I'll hate myself in the morning.

Be well. :)

:D It is a lovely color. I think you should get it.

Think that was for the DS/CX inspired C6 (which I have). Err does this mean my growing Lamy pen collection (I will buy an Aion), owning a Citroen C6, and also possessing a black turtleneck jumper are all linked ....

That depends ... do you walk around with a copy of Camus or Sartre?

Alas not - and not being a smoker means I also fail the gauloise test. I do however, have a cork screw in the glove box.

Whoah. I think this is the first Lamy that I actually like. The 2000 was also kind of okay but waaay too overpriced. The Aion on the other hand seems quite affordable and worth a try.

  • 2 weeks later...

I love my aion. I used it for the last four weeks and I think it is the best pen Lamy produced in the last twenty years.

Long and top heavy but then I am writing I can't feel the weight and its just works for me. My favorite fountain pens are slim and light but the aion is the exception. Great pen, looks in real life better than on pictures. I just love it.

Thanks for that. I'm still on the fence about it. Do I get one or do I use the proceeds to buy a second 2000? Not in any rush to decide I guess....

I don't like top heavy pens. This pen looks good to me though. You can write with it without the cap. I would really like to try one out, without buying first...lol.

Yeah, but look at it this way, KKay: if you buy it first; you'll have pride of ownership when you test it.

P.S.: That line worked on Herman Munster when he test-drove a used Chevy convertible. :D

I usually read reviews before buying anything. I don't even own a Lamy pen at all. I've never tried one. I will have to see what people say about it more. I don't imagine it will be any time soon if I can get one. But it has caught my eye, that's for sure. It isn't the only pen that's caught my eye though. I like my pens, but the inks are where I really have gone hog wild.

Hi KKay,

I check out the reviews, too, but I've learned to take them with a grain of salt... e.g., many people here rave on and on about the P51 and I've tried three of them now... and still don't understand why so many people love them.

Then you have the flipside... I love my Levenger True Writers and Lamy Logos... even though they both barely rate a peep here at FPN; especially compared to some others that I do not think are nearly as good.

Of course, the L2K remains my favorite with the PT-74 fitted with a C-70 converter making a very close second. :D

I know Lamy's tend to look bizarre, stark or austere... although I do find the Studio and the Logo quite attractive... the L2K is also really growing on me in the looks dept.

You should give Lamy a shot... I must own close to 50 and I like them all.

Be well. :)

P.S.: Oh, yeah, inks... oh, boy, that's another post in itself. :D

I was interested in a Lamy 2000, and I did momentarily hold one. It slipped in my fingers, and I put it down. Yes, I've seen people rave about stuff that I didn't care for. But the more reviews I can read, the better idea I get about a particular pen/ink. Since I don't live near a pen store, I have to depend on reviews a lot. The Studio in Racing Green did catch my eye too. But I think it had a metal section. I don't use those in the summer at all, too slippery.
