Parker 21 With Corporate Logo?

I recently bought a lot of pens on ebay that includes a nice never-inked Parker 21 pen/pencil set.

What I find unusual is that the clip has a big (1/2 inch diameter), round logo where the feathers should be. The clip does end in an arrow point. The emblem is marked "birks ster" on the reverse side.

I've seen many Cross pens with an emblem on the clip, but this is the only time I've seen it on a Parker. I browsed ebay and can't find any P21's with an emblem. It looks authentic otherwise.

Is this unusual? I'm not a big Parker person, but my google skills are usually good, and I can't find anything like this.

Sounds nice. What is the design like? "Birks" likely refers to Birks jewelers in Canada and many jewelers used "Ster." for sterling silver. Maybe it was customized by Birks for a specific company to use or present. Could you post a photo?

Yes, it was in a lot from Canada and some of the pens were made in Canada. This "21" says made in USA. The logo is for UMA, which I think is a company in British Columbia. I'm trying to post some pictures.

Interesting. I have some Sheaffer Targas and P45s with similar logos but for different companies.

Googling does show there was an engineering company called UMA that later merged with another company. I can just see those logos sticking out of an engineer's pocket on the job! Enjoy your pens!

What were the other ones in the lot, by the way?

I had never seen a Parker with this type of logo before.

Honestly, I was wondering if I could remove the logo, I don't really care for the look!

Also in the lot was a nice Parker 21 Custom, with a gold-filled cap and ridged clip and a Canadian Fineline, which is a cartridge pen that looks exactly like the first gen Sheaffer school pen. Also several ballpoint/mechanical pencil sets.

It might not be a complete arrow underneath if they possibly had to remove part of it to set in the logo.
