Obunsha Teikin Price Quote Request

Hi all, does anyone have an Obunsha Teikin pocket pen? The one with the Parker 180 style nib? How are they as writers and are there structural problems I have to be aware of like an easily cracked section, etc.?

I'd also like to ask if anyone knows the going rate for these, if user grade. I checked eBay and only found one listing (for bidding).

Attached is a photo of the pen from the seller. The Teikin is the one second from the bottom, alongside a Platinum DP-50, a no name pen, a Pilot DPP-100, and a Platinum DP-800 (or an older version of it).

Thanks!

I have one: I bought it for about 8 USD on Yahoo Auctions but that was the cheapest price, I have seen so far.

I will ink it up during the next weekend.

I think I should have some more. Just to show you some pocket pens. They mostly look the same, don't they?

There is a huge "overstock" on these Sailor and Pilot pens, so the prices of used ones are quite down to earth.

Special ones with a beautiful design can reach "astronomical" prices, however.

mke, thanks for the pictures. They pop-up every so often over here. Frequently at bargain bin prices at what we call "Japan Surplus" stores. Sometimes you get lucky and find something lucky. I think someone in the local community found a lower end Myu for $3.00.

$8-10 is what I was hoping for. I'm being sold the lot for $30. Not sure if I'll take it...

Teikin was a lower end Japanese pen manufacturer. Many of their pens were giveaways. They did make two higher-end models - in sterling and silver plate. Both very rare. Unfortunately the Teikin name and reputation is a drag on their price. As i recall they use Sailor cartrdges.
