This is a fairly quick review, so that I can get up some reviews of the 8 new Diamine inks for you to look at. I haven't tried them all on lot's of different papers yet, but that will come later.

Today I've been writing with them in my cheap Silvine Notepad. It's fairly absorbent paper, so dry times are quick. It's a white paper so I find it easier to get the ink colours accurate in Photoshop.

I noticed that all 8 of these new ink samples have wet flow, good lubrication, some shading, no sheen. They clean up very easily from skin and pens. I've had these inks in these various pens for at least 2 weeks now, and they all start up immediately with no problems.

Sorry, I haven't yet tested for water resistance, and I will do that soon.

These inks will be available from Diamine in the 150th Anniversary range bottles as well as packs of 20 cartridges. I don't yet have any bottles to show you.

Oh boy. Just when I thought I had a handle on the blues.

Tudor looks halfway between Aster and Cornflower.

Thank you Chrissy for letting us see the "rushes".

I like this one as well! Thank you Chrissy. You posted the three I'm quite interested in! Next one Golden Honey?

You're welcome. :) I started with these 3 as they are in a similar colour range and it hasn't been easy to show the exact shade of Lilac Night with Photoshop. So I wanted to get it done while we had a nice bright day.

I'm not so happy about this paper as it's quite absorbent, so isn't showing up the shading very well. I'm going to change paper before I continue with the other 5.

I will do Golden Honey and Blood Orange next.

You're welcome. :) That's a good call - yes Tudor Blue is like a 'toned-down' refined shade between Aster and Cornflower. :)

Not a colour that excites me, but very pleasant looking. Thank you.

Nice ink, very nice review.

Thanks.

Any idea as to where this slots in compared to Asa Gao and Visconti Blue?

Thanks Chrissy for the comparisons also.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

You're welcome. :) I will try to do some comparisons. I don't have any Asa-gao, but I do have Visconti Blue.

I just popped into this review thread to say that these inks have now been issued and are readily available from Diamine and other retailers. :)

Vanness has them now. I ordered my set because I don't have enough ink!

Thanks for the review. And, well, not....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thanks for this nice review. What a splendid blue. Exactly as you say, no red, no green in it. A pure middle-to-dark blue. Crass... it's almost as bad as blue-blacks... I'll never stop collecting them....
