Mechanical Pencil Montblanc Classic (From The 1990S) Fell Apart

Is anybody knowledgeable about mechanical pencils?

Already many years ago, my mechanical pencil fell apart. I didn't let it repair immediately and it remained forgotten in a box until some days ago, when I accidentally opened this box.

 

As you can see the twist mechanical part fell out of the cap. I have no idea why. But it seems impossible to easily reinsert it. As I don't know how the construction is, I don't want to use force.

I called the customer service of Montblanc in Japan but my impression was that they are only interested in selling new stuff.

 

Have you seen any site where they explain the inner structure of such a pen? Or know somewhere I could ask.

I visited a Montblanc shop.

They told me that it would cost 150 USD to get the stuck mechanism out of the cap and repair the pen.

No way, I guess, I either sell it as parts or I try to repair it by myself.

 

By the way, I realized an attitude change when they saw that my pencase contained another MB.
