Week #19 / 7 May: Week Of Europe - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

I've gone for an Italian ink and copied a Belgian man.

This Stipula Calmo Grigio Fumo ink in a fountain pen disappointed me . . . loads.

This ink in a dip pen . . . oh my ! :yikes:

The written & drawn lines stay dark, dark brown, almost black in fact with hardly any feathering considering the amount of ink going down.

Dipping a brush into the bottle and working it onto paper produces a very rich chestnut colour.

When washed over with water, the ink splits and a bluey grey colour remains.

I may have to eat some humble pie with this fella and start sketching more, in a very wet pen with it

Nice! What ink is that though? Italian ink... from Stipula?

Oh, poo. I'll edit it now

Thank you.

Look at how it looks when used in a pen

You're right. Much richer with a dip pen. You made a better ink out of it.

Your folded nib would love this stuff :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I've really been having fun with these weekly prompts. I can't seem to get anything else done! I was being so careful and then I forgot that I'd added ink on the B and smudged it. Oh well . . .

It's a CRV - I hope Amberlea won't mind the smudge. ;)

Once they arrived here, I got busy playing with them. We had no internet for a day.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
