Can't Assemble Moore Non-Leakable Pen

I'm trying to restore Moore non-leakable pen.

It has a pin on the nib carrier (rod). Please could someone explain me what for it is. It looks like it hinder sealing, so the pen is leaking.

If the Moore's anatomy is anything like a standard safety's, then it's meant to lock into a groove on the inside of the barrel to keep the nib straight.

I dont see your cork seal and plastic collars on top of and below the seal to keep it in place. Unless you have the cork seal in place, the pen will leak

The pin prevents the shaft from being withdrawn too far. Moore safeties do not twist -- they are straight push-pull action.
