In this case, a Clairefontaine Triomphe A5. And the pen of choice - Pilot Custom 823, the double reservoir makes flying with a FP so much easier and worry free.

I like your photo. I keep looking through the trees to see if I can find Waldo. Your 823 is nice as well. I have 2 of them. I use to think it was silly for someone to own 2 of the same pen.

What's the nib size on that pen? I'm about to board the 823 train and trying to decide between Medium and Bold (going off of the conventional wisdom of Japanese pens running narrower ... what I really want is something comparable to a Pelikan medium)

Great photos, nice pen. I've posted about travelling with our pens and think it's a fun topic. I hope more of us write about it.

Always travel w a notepad but not a fountain pen. This trip takes me to Little Rock Arkansas and I packed my A5ish Black n Red with my Pelikan k800 ballpoint and an old rotting 700 rollerball. And since I had time I took a field trip to Vanness and bought some clairefontaine and leuchturm notebooks. Great store. Lisa was very helpful and I wish there was a store like this in my hometown!

It's a medium, but a gushing medium so I enjoy a decent (but not too wide) line which is wet enough to shade with shading inks.

I haven't tried a broad but assume it will be too wide for my handwriting.

Hope it helps.

Just spent a week in Singapore. Travelling, I took the following stationery on flights etc.

1 x Parker 51 F

1 x Lamy Safari Demonstrator F

1 x Lamy AlStar Coffee F

1 x Lamy Safari Demonstrator ballpoint

Nock 3+1 bifold case

Nock 5x3 cards

Clairefontaine A5 notebook in Gfeller leather cover

Muji A5 2 ring binder with quad paper

I think I spend more time determining my holiday stationery than I do selecting my clothing.

I have them stashed all over: a Leuchtturm at my desk in the office, a little Metaphys on my person and an A5 of various makes in the bedroom. You never know when you're gonna get an idea.

I keep an A5 notepad on a small writing table in the living room (and an inked FP conveniently happens to be around too, of course...), always looking for excuses to jot something down. By now my wife is familiar with my 3 minutes writing breaks :-)
