You have an excellent Web site design. I was actually able to navigate the site quickly and efficiently without ever having to enable scripting! Finally, an E-Commerce site that doesn't have layers and layers of dozens of hidden scripting sites lurking, tracking me, and collecting redundant "Metrics" about me - just so I can click on an item.

I see you carry Namiki Blue and Namiki Black ink in the squat oval 60ml bottles. This is rare to see in the U.S. As I understand it you are supposed to go through Pilot's exclusive U.S. Distributor and they only allow resale of the larger round-shaped Pilot-branded 70ml bottles. (The ink in the 60ml Namiki and 30ml/70ml Pilot bottles is identical.)

What I want to know is if you can sell the 60ml bottles of Namiki Ink in the U.S., can you go one step further and sell the 300ml bottles of Pilot Blue-Black, Black, and Red ink in the U.S. too? I think there is a demand for the large bottles in the U.S., but so far I've never seen anyone attempt to sell them state-side.

Remember, 300ml bottles of Pilot/Namiki Blue do not exist, only Blue-Black, Red & Black. But the Blue and Blue-Black inks are quite similar, both in color and behavior. One difference however is the Blue ink has a stronger odor of Phenol (I think), which is added in minute amounts to all the colors to protect against SITB.

I understand there's a temporary shortage of Eel Blue due to that it's made by hand by one person, but the others should be aavailable.

Did you directly contact Pilot to get the MRs or did you order it from them? I will be back when the site provides a wider variety. Chase TWSBI like you mean it, a secret informant of mine from the retailer side told me that they offer special discounts for authorized retailers. Hope to see you in brick and mortar one day!!!

I'll have to look into this. Apologies for the delay! I would love to be able to carry larger bottles of Pilot ink. It's really great stuff and I'm sure more economical with the larger sizes.

I ordered the MR's through Pilot. They call it the Metropolitan in the US, but Pilot USA transitioned to MR for us here in the States recently. It's the same Metro as all other US distributors carry.

 

And I am in contact with TWSBI, I was waiting to carry them when I either had more demand for them, and/or sold more of what I have in inventory first. But they are definitely on the short list. I love their design and the owner seems very cool. I'd love a B&M, too! Then I can carry some of those brands they don't let sell online - but that's down the road I'm sure.

The website looks nice, and it is easy to navigate. As an overseas buyer one of the critical things I look at is how shipping will impact my choice. As it stands, your shipping options are not attractive for overseas buyers - which is perfectly fine of course if you consider your customer base to be all american (which I presume you do).

 

Don't be surprised if you get a rush on that Lamy Petrol!

I think the site is easy to navigate and I like the stream-lined look. I don't like a "Sale" notice coming up on a pen that is listed as costing ten cents less than its normal price; I find that a bit cheesy and out of keeping with the site's overall feel. Good luck!

Ha you caught me testing something! I was setting the Lamy Al-Star Charged Green on sale to see what happened and it worked! I eventually changed the price to reflect an actual "sale!"
