What is that grubby looking stuff around the edges of the nib where it fit into the section?

 

Cannot tell from the pictures if nib work is required. If you need to remove the nib, you will need to so.

The nib looks bent to the right.

One of the tines is bent and the scratches on the bottom of the nib looks like it's from the user turning the cap when the pen is capped and from a previous botched nib job where the user tried to remove the nib.

 

The nib can be repaired and the scratches could be buffed out depending on how deep.

 

If you're after a good condition pen...Etc I'll give it a pass.

 

Edit: Is there a picture of the clip and inside of the cap? Inside of the cap has a screw holding a spring which has a tendency to rust resulting the plating at the top of the clip to come off and a dead clip.

Did you get it? I was watching that one as well and surprised at how low it closed. Normally those go over 10k JPY. That one is in better condition than the one you were considering.
