This is the reply I got from Pelikan:

Thank you for your e-mail and for letting us know. We were in contact with the Austin 2017 Hub Master and he told us that he is already looking forward to host the Hub. The reason why he might hasn't contacted you and the other participants yet can be related to the fact that he was not able to find a suitable venue yet - but this is only an assumption.
It might be best to get in contact with this year's Austin Hub Master directly, we can provide the contact details of him to you. The name of the Hub Master is Randall D. and you can best contact him via e-mail: XXX@xxx. Nonetheless, we will send him an e-mail, too.
If he does not reply within the next couple of days, we would kindly ask you to get in touch with us again.
Please let us know, in case you have any further questions or concerns.

I have emailed Randall, and am waiting to hear back from him.

Many thanks to ScienceChick and TXKat for hosting (mastering?) the Dallas Pelikan Hub last night. We had a great turnout and saw lots of brightly plumed birds. I hope many of the new faces will become Dallas Pen Club regulars.

Just thought of a new definition of chutzpah: calling up your local Montblanc boutique and asking them to donate swag for your Pelikan Hub.

Here in San Diego we had a smallish gathering of about 20 people but numbers didn't matter, as it was very fun. It was hosted by one of my local pen friends at a restaurant, so we had a chance to have some food and visit with old friends and new before sharing pens, inks and Pelikan stuff. Here's an arty shot of the logo Mark had outside the venue to catch the eye:

There were a number of our local pen group (which is hosted monthly by pen repairman Ron Meloche) and there were new faces as well, which made for a great time when we all started pulling out our pens and inks and swapping around! Mark had brought plenty of pipettes and sample vials to share inks, including a full set of the Edelsteins that Pelikan supplied.

As the evening wound down, Mark guided us through a quiz on Pelikan history and had some prizes for those who answered most correctly. The topper was that he had gone out into his shop and crafted, for each person attending, a neat little four-pen holder. It also perfectly suits the gift from Pelikan, a bottle of their 2017 Ink of the Year, Smoky Quartz. All in all, a great way to spend a Friday evening!

Nice report Jon. Very big thanks to Mark (Mookli on FPN) for hosting the event and Pelikan for sponsoring!

:lticaptd:

Wait. Did somebody actually DO that?

The Pittsburgh Hub was fun, but yinz didn't eat enough of the cookies! I had to send the rest of the gingerbread pelicans off with my husband to gaming this afternoon....

Hi!

Does anyone know where the Pelikan hub is for Toronto?

Thanks!

You may get more attention and possibly an answer if you post in the 2018 Pelikan Hub thread.
