Going To France

We'll be in Paris as well as Avignon this year and I would like to try to find a souvenir pen. Since the trip is putting a pretty large hole in the budget I would like to spend ~$50US but no more than $100US for the pen. Any suggestions for a uniquely French pen in my budget? Thanks for any ideas.

Sail up the Channel, Turn right for Calais, left for Dover and all points beyond ;-)

 

France was particular to a Safety pen back in the day, so these turn up pretty regular. You could also try and dig out a MT Blackbird made for the French market.

Stylomine - Bayard - Gold Starry - Meteore - I've not a clue as to the quality of these brands, but they warrant some column inches in one of Andreas Lambrou's books, so I'd imagine worth having as a souvenir - presumably all of these should have 18 ct. nibs in line with French regulations.

Best bet might be to trawl flea markets, their equivalent of boot sales and if you have an afternoon to spare you might consider 'going on the knock' - but stay away from high class antiques emporia

French made Waterman, obviously.
