Help Identifying A Montegrappa Fountain Pen (And Authenticity)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to buy a second hand Montegrappa fountain pen (about 500 Euros). I've contacting the seller asking to send me more pictures with his fountain pen and to provide me more information about the fountain pen he sells. He said that the fountain pen is a present and he has not a certificate for the fountain pen. Please help me to identify the fountain pen. I am looking for information about price and if the fountain pen is authentic.

Thank you in advance.

There is no way to authenticate the pen based on pictures but I don't see anything that screams "fake".

I dont think a counterfiter will make a copy of a niche pen like this one.

They copy models largely known by the majority of peoples like mont Blanc.

I've got one myself. The fountain pen is made by Montegrappa in 2007 to commemorate that Romania joined the Euro countries.

It is based on the LE from 2002 but now with the shape of Romania on the cap instead of two euro symbols.

You can check the 2002 version in the 'Vault' on Momntegrappa's website since that is a 'normal' LE. This one isn't a normal LE but probably 'made to order'... But it's a Montrgappa allright! I have never encountered counterfeit fountain pens of Montregrappa, so I think you're safe.
