Oh The Horror - I Have No Pink Ink!

Green Ink

Recommended Posts

I've enjoyed looking at the Pink and Magenta T.O.D. I've narrowed it down to two for my first pink ink. Akkerman Pulchri Pink and Iroshizuku Tsutsuji look terrific.

Those of you who have both - what do you like about each? Do you like one more?

Did I miss a pink that I should consider?

I like shading, sheening and colors that are not shy.

Can't wait to hear what you have to say!

For sheening and colours that are not shy I suggest you look and see if you can find Montblanc Pink, also Diamine Cerise has sheen and is certainly not shy. :)

From reviews, the Diamine Hope looks pretty intense and there's also the possibly-even-more-neon Rachmaninoff.

I had Tsutsuji but I ended up giving it away, don't remember now why I didn't like it - too dark, too red, too much gold sheen?

I like Pelikan Pink; mine is a bit deeper than Chrissy's example but that's probably due to the old carts being about half evaporated so I added distilled water. I have new carts that I haven't tried yet, they might be closer to Chrissy's color. One thing I like about it (which you can see a bit in Chrissy's sample) is this sort of suggestion of blue it has; hard to describe but it makes the ink a little more interesting

It's odd, but on my screen, WM Radiant Pink looks purple.

Not that I'd ever buy it... I don't like cartridges.

De Atramentis Goat (zodiac line) and Cherry Blossom (flower line) are nice bright pinks.

Yep, it looks purple on my screen too, as does J.Herbin Rose Cyclamen. I sometimes can't match up every line, but assume Waterman Radiant Pink looks more like the swabs

Iroshizuku Fuyu Gaki is so not shy it might need a curfew... It's orangey pinkish.

I think that Montblanc Pink is not available anymore ...

One pen roll, two pen rolls, three pen rolls ... So many pen rolls ! Do you want one ?

my tiny shop is open and you can have a closer look on my website to see my cotton (and sometimes silk) OOAK penrolls.

Hi Chrissy,

Yes, ditto on the Rose Cyclamen, too. Thanks for the advice on the swabs. :)

I have seen it on ebay fairly regularly. Sometimes one comes up that is reasonably priced. :)

Ask Amberlea!

Thank you for the shout out.

I love pink inks. I don't even consider myself a pink person (I've always been a more reds and purples kind of girl), but I work in serious stately industry that takes itself way too seriously. So, I started using hot pink for my signature colors.

I love the suggestions so far, I'd also add Momiji which is supposed to be red, but dang, it's pink. Now be sure to check out this thread: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/281636-inky-t-o-d-color-swatches-pink-and-magenta-please-post-your-pictures-and-tell-us-your-thoughts/ for a whole bunch of pinks.

Chrissy, we'd love to have that pink comparison in the thread too.

A few other pinks that are notable, Cape Cod Cranberry (It's the BSB Pink), Suffragist Carmine (which is a UV ink and has a great history). I wouldn't suggest these as every day inks.

I love the Akkerman Pink, but it's a fader and that frustrated me. I mixed it up with the Akkerman Magenta and Noodler's Ghost Blue and loved it. The color didn't fade and it was still bright.

I also love Tsutsuji and use it often.

Anyway, we'd love to see your swatches and doodles and please add them to the pink thread.
