Messenger Fountain Pen (Germany)

Recommended Posts

I know that there was already a discussion some time ago (2011) about these pens.

But still, there is nearly no information available.

Apparently, WH Smith (UK) brought out an own brand of fountain pens - called Messenger.

Is there any hard data available what designs were in this line? From when to when?

Apparently, they were made in Germany - anybody knows by whom?

Today, by accident, I stopped during a bicycle tour at a recycle shop and bought this pen:

One of the files attached to this message.

Blue marble or lava, bicolored nib

Good quality - aluminium, I would guess - no cheap plastics

On ebay Ireland, I saw a silver-gold one, called WHSmith Flighter DeLuxe.

Any additional info?

Thank you

I can't help with the pen, but I fully support the idea of buying pens "by accident". I've explained this to my wife many times, but she just doesn't get it 😜

A little bit more information.

In the 2011 thread, I saw mentioned as producer of these pens the no-more-existing company "Reform" - which helped me retrieve this posting in German

It contains a photo of a pen which, IMO, resembles very much my pen.

Does anyone know if Messenger is still an active company and if they do repairs?  My pen was given to me in 1985 and has a tortoise shell finish that is heavily worn.  It still has the original nib and writes like a dream, so I'd love to have it restored.  Any help welcome.
