Week #8 / 19 Feb: Iron-Gall Week - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

Recommended Posts

It's Iron-gall week! Use an iron-gall ink. If you don't have any, maybe write about why you are hesitant to use them?

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

---------

Next week is gonna be wettest ink week.

Here is mine. I do like IG inks, although with so many others, it's not always easy to get to them...

This one combines my liking for IG with my love for blue inks.

It may already be old so it's mostly dark even as it goes onto paper. No matter, I do like it a lot.

Another KWZ ink, IG Blue #6, and the greener end of the blue spectrum. I almost went with R&K Scabiosa, which I love very much, and seeing all these other KWZ blue inks I may ink another pen up with Scabiosa anyway. But I love this blue ink too, and it is a good one for InCoWriMo letters, being bold and gutsy compared to Scabiosa's rather paler appearance.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

LG, the bottle spilled in transit when I bought it (upon initial release). I think it oxidized in the bottle. I sent the question to Konrad. If anyone has a bottle and could compare, that would be wonderful. I will need to go test some of my other KWZI IGs. I suspect that it is just that particular bottle. I didn't use it much because I got sidetracked by gummiberries and grapefruits. :)

Dawn, did you see the picture from the other day, I'm using your pen. That ink is one of Konrad's first samplings for FPN and it is luscious. Yes it is an IG.

Oh, and once again, let's thank Mrs. KWZI for the new names like Gummiberry instead of #s.

I'm still hoping/waiting for Las Pinkas to happen!

:) Glad my letter arrived. I have no IG inks, so I'm waiting for another week to start up again. Yes, your "Cherry" is a bit "over-ripe". :D

Well, Liz, if you are into murky greens, may I suggest an overripe Cherry? I can send you some.
