London Writing Equipment Show 2017

The London Pen Show in October was my first. Even though I am exclusively interested in more modern pens and there were lots of vintage pens on offer, I have to say I loved it!

In many ways you get out of something what you put in to it. I genuinely intended to have a quick look around for no more than 45 minutes tops but ended up staying roughly three and a half hours! Lots of really friendly people on the stalls with encyclopaedic knowledge who were happy to chew the fat. The people on the Niche Pens, Onoto and the guys from Antwerp could not have been more accommodating if they tried. The people on the Onoto stall in particular were so enthusiastic about their brand and pens, I knew there and then that I would be saving up for one! As I went around the stalls I also had a few conversations with people who had come to the show for the first time.

Brought £400 with me and spent £20 on an orange Conklin All American - bargain. Would have liked to have bought more but if anything overwhelmed by the choice on offer. I took the view that there is alway next time or another Pen Show perhaps.

I for one will be back for more and only wish that there was a London event more than just once a year.
