Caran D'ache Genève 70Th Anniversary Edition 62/2000

Hi friends, my first post here.

I've reserved the Caran d'Ache Genève 70th Anniversary Edition which I will be paying for and picking up in 2 weeks. However, I can't find much information about the pen elsewhere online so if anyone can help me out and give me their thoughts if they know anything about the pen, I'd greatly appreciate it!

First welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. Not sure what you want to know about the pen other than it was the predecessor of the Leman and that one was issued in 1994. I have a Genève but it's not one of the limited editions.

IIRC the one you reserved has a interrupted barley corn pattern finish.

 

I like my Genève a lot and it gets far more than its fair share of pocket time.

Thanks @jar, your pen is beautiful! I'm not quite sure what I want to know myself, but one of the things that I was curious about was in regards to the nib. I've owned (and unfortunately lost) another Caran d'Ache before, but that was a Ecridor with a Rhodium-steel nib. The Genève has a gold nib and if you could let me know your take on Caran d'Ache's gold nibs which, quite frankly, im not familiar with, that would be really great!

Well I have both gold and steel nib Cd'As and find little difference. The nibs are smooth, responsive, forgiving, with little or no flexibility but a slight soft feel.

Caran d'Ache nibs are good... My ivanhoe came with the smoothest nib ever. Without a skip it wrote for thousands of pages.

 

The 18k nibs are... softer than a nail... but not yet "springy". Yet they can be pushed to get some line variation. Smooth, and lovely.

The wetness... well, all are different, are they not? Mine was a tad dry to my liking, but good.

 

These pens are great, amazing build quality. The only warning i give is the same one Jar gave to me: if you can make do with the thin grip section, then go for it.
