Bill, thanks. A small flock, but it keeps me happy ... for now (famous last words?).

Today I got surprise Pelikan 140 with M nib. I think I was buying two german low-end school pens for "experiments", but I was wrong... And bigger surprise was polystyrene collar, it wasn't broken. Nice pen, but I already have one Pelikan 140 with excatly same nib.

Paypal foolishly extended me a line of credit (or perhaps I'm the fool); in any event, I have a Ruby M320 on the way.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

The Ruby arrived today, it's beautiful. One of the larger silver chips is a little too close to the surface so it looks like a cloudy smudge but I'm probably the only one who'll notice it. After informing Ms. Weeks at Chartpak which model I bought, she sent me a nib exchange form, which I assume means they do have replacements available, so I'll send it off next week to exchange the B for an EF. Not to decide what ink to use once I get it back.

Big shoutout to W R Weakly of The Collector's Connection, he answered my inquiries very quickly and the pen arrived 2 days after I ordered it. Thanks.

Congrats on the Ruby Red! That takes the standard M300 nib so replacement nibs shouldn't be a problem. Bill is a good salesmen. I've bought a few high end pens off of him. I always look for his table at the pen shows.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

This Pelikan m450 Tortoise pen is small but that doesn't mean its not a huge milestone for me. I clearly remember the first few times I saw photos of this pen online at the forum and immediately thought it was one of the most beautiful pens I'd ever seen. I never thought I'd be able to find and buy one -- but with help from members here I was able to locate one at a Turkish vendor. After much travail with the USPS the pen finally arrive yesterday. :D

Well done GuttSchrift! Absolutely beautiful pen. I think that one needs to be on my list as well...

Yay, winning bid on a black M300! New in the box from a German dealer, will email Hannover to see if it qualifies for a nib exchange.

P.S. - My M320 Ruby is supposed to arrive back from Chartpak tomorrow.

Doin' the happy dance. :bunny01:

Congratulations! I also believe the Pelikan M450 is one of the most beautiful pens I have ever seen. I was lucky enough to get mine for a very good price from a vendor in Russia.

The M450 is my favorite modern Pelikan as well, with the M620 Grand Place coming in second.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Waiting for a M600 red stripe to arrive.

Arrived & joined the other 6 in the flock. Also in the package was a bottle of Lamy Petrol.

An M450, the only problem is the nib, which is M, whereas I prefer F nib.

Ah, the Marmalade

Someday I will go after that one... unless Pelikan gives us an M800 version.

Congratulations! That is a fantastic pen. I hope you have lots of fun with it!

The M450 is my dream pen. I even thought I had tracked one down 2 months ago, but no: the site was not up to date. So, after a couple of months of good behavior, that disappointment sent my on a buying spree of > 40 pens, mostly vintage (one has to find a way to cope with the pain, right? :P ).

So, seeing that you don't like the M nib and that I'm in charitable mood, I could take it off your hands! :lticaptd:

An M625 Blue & M650 green stripe. I'm left with only one more M600 pen as to complete this M6xx (old & new style) series collection (except M640s).
