Thank you daeng! It is an M900 Black, M nib. My sweet wife bought me the Ocean Swirl for Christmas which left me room to buy myself this on a Black Friday sale. One of three "grail pens" is now in the box B)

LOVE your K800 Tortoise! Congrats to you too sir!

BillH: love you M900, a grail pen of mine, too. What are your other two grail pens?

I just got mine. Tell me what you think

Derek

I’ve not written with the pen yet but aesthetically I’m pleased with it. Overall the pen looks pearl white to me. The white stripe didnt look plain but complement to the whole pen. It will look like a pair to the pink M600.

How about you?

Someday I would like a Montblanc Hemingway and a Pelikan Spirit of Gaudi. Those have been top of the list for some time now.

Speaking of the Gaudi, did any of you get involved with the one on eBay that closed earlier at $2040? I was SO tempted, but the pen budget is demolished for this year :( But at least now we have a fresh data point (I think sargetalon mentioned seeing one go for $1800 quite awhile back).

I was wondering the same thing myself. Was surprised to see why it closed at. I thought I paid quite a bit for mine and this went for almost $300 more. I think the Gaudi is one of the nicest pens out of Hannover though so I can't blame the lucky new owner.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

A fellow member posted in the "waiting for in the mail" thread earlier today about just having won one.

I confess--I'm the new Gaudi owner. The auction wouldn't have gone that high if somebody hadn't tried to snipe me at the very end. In today's mail I'm also getting an M620 Athens along with several nibs customized by Richard Binder.

Congratulations, I'm happy for you. Such a beautiful pen! btw, I was NOT the sniper  because my poor pen budget just won't let me right now... next year perhaps.

Hey... I just had a thought... if you have the Hemingway in your collection, how about a picture of the two of them? :puddle:

I'll try to remember to do that when the Gaudi comes in. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

Here's my flock, with a recent addition: a #140 from c. 1955. Interesting oblique broad nib. Sorry about the blurry photo. I thought I had enough light, but apparently not. :(

^ ^ Beautiful collections up there. I really enjoy the variations in size, pattern, and time period.

Ink 'em if you got 'em!

A beautiful collection. Isn't the "M200 green stripes" actually an early M400? I don't think M200 ever came in stripes, or had the golden "crown" at the top.

Nice collection but the second from bottom is a 100 rather than a 100N.

Thanks. I have never been sure about that particular pen. I bought it from a seller in Germany, and it may be a combination of elements (body vs. cap). But if it looks like a simple 100, it's great to have an identification.

Actually, you may know more than I do about it. I bought the pen in the mid 1990s, and I seem to recall that it was labeled an M200, but it certainly could be something else! Thanks for the correction!

The M620 Athens and the Gaudi have arrived safely. The Athens is, of course beautiful, but the Gaudi is absolutely stunning. I am so fortunate to have found these pens. The seller of the Athens also sent me a bunch of extra nibs to play with, most of which have been ground by Richard Binder. There is an 18K medium stub, a 14K 2-tine music nib, a 14K semi-flex, and a 14K full-flex in the M600 size, and a 14K 2-tine music nib in the M800 size. I am encouraged by the seller to play with these for a month and to buy what I like--sure sounds like fun to me.
