Remains to be seen how the Jules Verne pen's "polished lacquer" will hold up compared to "precious resin." :lticaptd:

The yellow highlighter I forgot to buy when they were new. Found an unused one.

Very nice pen. You'll love that BB nib.

The highlighter ink really glows - much more so than Noodler's firefly or the Private Reserve highlighter ink.

I was looking for a larger diameter pen that would be more comfortable for longer writing sessions. I have an m600 and an m800. They are both superb. But, I was still hoping for a slightly more comfortable fit in my slightly arthritic hand. I do a lot of writing in a day's time. Rather than another Pelikan, I got a Delta Dolce Vita, medium size. It is huge. It is also not as well made as a Pelikan. It does have a very nice fine nib. But, a few dollars more and I could have have an m600. A few more than that, and I could have had an m800. It's a nice pen, but I won't make that mistake again. I know this doesn't quite fit the topic, but I wanted to make clear, I made a mistake. I have a nice Pelikan collection for a reason. Pelikan is the best. I need to start putting together the funds for the Pelikan I should have bought this last time; probably an m800 to be used unposted. I also have a number of 1930, 40s, and 50s Pelikans with nibs that outperform anything I have tried. They are just too small for extended writing. I often hear that one must make mistakes in order to learn. I learned a lesson.

Biancitwo, I know the feeling very well. Delta is a brand that I scratched from my future (I'm 0-4: all 4 I bought were defective. I returned 3 which had serious barrel defects, but kept the Dolcevita OS since it was "only" severe baby bottom).

If you want a larger pen, you should try the M1000. Not as wide as the Delta, but a bit more than the M800, and the nib is fantastic IMO (and very, very wet)!

At first I laughed at you guys when you warned me Pelikans reproduce rapidly. I was sure my M400 brown tortoise will be enough for me. Oh well...I sense a blue M800 in near future...maybe for my birthday next month.

Aaaand I lasted a whole 5 days. I got the Pelikan M800 blue today. This has quenched my thirst for acquiring pens for a bit now. Finally. This was the last one I really liked that are available in the stores at the moment. Love it. Absolutely love the blue stripes finish.

My latest Pelikan is an M800 Renaissance Brown and it's a pure delight to took at and to use. It's become my favourite pen - it's so very nice to use.

It's been a year or so since my last purchase of a new Pelikan but I just sent my very first fountain pen, a 150 Calligraphy Deluxe from the late 1980's out to Pendelton Brown to have a B nib made into an Architects nib. It will be my EDC in my wallet with a Rhodia Dot Pad.

How is this possible? APelikan M800 for £9.99 from Amazon.co.uk

..snip..

One of the other subforums has a thread about these.

AJ, it isn't possible... those fraud sellers have been popping up like mushrooms. Don't fall for it, and report them if you can. That one seems to have been taken down, which is the first time I've seen that... maybe Amazon is finally getting a handle on it? At least Amazon UK.

Interesting that this pen is being offered through Amazon. It's a scam but one that will see Amazon out of pocket rather than an individual. £9.99 and free postage from USA? Very surprised that Amazon didn't refuse to have it on their website.

+1. They are fraudsters who pop up and copy 341 pages of listings, then withdraw the money they have amassed two weeks after their listings went live and one week before their delivery dates when the negative feedbacks start rolling in. It's a scam. They provide fake delivery notices and sometimes send out cheap marker pens. Amazon UK is aware because I report them.

Hej Chrissy (and all others reporting this),

on Amazon.de are masses of "€12,42"-offers regarding stationary goods online right now since weeks.

Over there they actually use names, such as "Darlene Eva" etc. (just search for Lamy 2000 or Pilot 823 on Amazon Germany and you'll see it).

Such is the world ...

Best regards

I didn't mean it as a bad thing, I love my wet writers (especially with Pelikans inks) :)

But (even after I took apart the nib unit to adjust the nib and feed so that there was not such a large gap between the two) I can still write my way through a full fill (of edelstein jade) with maybe 5-7 clairefontaine pages. On the bright side, I get to change my inks up often :)

A green-striped 400, w/OM nib, c. 1955. It's a "user-grade" pen - pretty worn nib imprint, and the body has lost a good deal of its gorgeous colour. But what a nib! So smooth and so soft. I'm hooked.

Practice, patience, perseverance
