Aren't you worried that BSB will stain your pen?

You're right - it will stain the pen. That's okay - the pen will still write.

+1

I know a man who was shocked when he saw my cameras sitting on the back seat of the car... "How can you possibly carry your cameras like that?" he exclaimed. "Aren't you afraid of scratches?" "I'm more afraid of my cameras not being ready and missing a good shot" I told him. He wasn't convinced and his cameras and lenses sit in their individual cases, safely in his desk drawer.

Everyone has a different goal (idea?) for their pens/collections. I intend to use mine.

Thank you. Same here.

On the subject of scratched cameras ...

Happy snaps, as Sal Dimarco, God rest him, used to say.

Thank you, Diderot.

Leica Historical Society black paint edition M6TTL, and a 35mm 1.4 lens.

1977 Domke bag. Yes, that's a slide rule

Lovely, just lovely.

Something very tactile about these cameras.

Mine first was an M7, then M9 followed by an M4 and M3.

I still have them all and use them as well as my 2 Domke satchels.

Don't have a summilux, mine are all summicrons, 35mm is the f2 asph.

Yes, they are seamless.

God bless Jim Domke for inventing those satchels. The F-101 reporter's satchel is perfect carryon for pens, medicine, and spare glasses.

Here is my newest addition, an old-style black M710 from the early 1990s. Just a beautiful pen...

If I were limited to just one more Pelikan, it would be this one, or the M910. Breathtaking.

I received my M1000 today. The nib was at a nibmeister and it writes absolutely perfect. It says it's a medium, so naturally it's BB. This is the wettest, softest, most glorious nib I have ever used. It's honestly a little bit insane. Rhodia 90g premium paper actually curls (but not bleeds through) due to wetness of it. I have never seen anything like it. And I love it.

Test below shows how much wetter my M1000 medium nib is compared to my M400 medium nib. Keep in mind the M400 nib is already very wet.

@invisuu

It's like a river! 😆

Mine is the same way though, so perhaps that's normal for the M1000 medium nib?

You make it sound like it's a bad thing!

I noticed I wrote MB nibs in above picture. I meant to write they're both MB inks, but I would have failed anyway, for one is MB tofee brown and the other is Iroshizuku Yama Budo. Amazing what excitement does to a person. Maybe it's just me.

Here's my flock after 6 months of converting to the occult of Pelikan. At first I laughed at you guys when you warned me Pelikans reproduce rapidly. I was sure my M400 brown tortoise will be enough for me. Oh well...I sense a blue M800 in near future...maybe for my birthday next month.

Oh, buggeration! I can see a new thread having to be started -- Leicas! How on earth is there time for anything else in life, except for FPbloodyN??? ;^)

Revivalist: I, too, have an M6; but I still do not understand (have never understood) the difference between "black-bodied" and "black-painted" and I know there <is> a difference...? (It ought to be obvious, you'd think?) I have three Summiluxes to go with it and the M4-P. (Whether or not to trade-in these two bodies on a digital version?) ;^o

PS: Don't anyone dare point fingers at me for "losing the thread" (please): it's all Revivalist's fault: <he> started it!

I've had a fountain pen since I bought Cross' first fountain pen in 1982 or '83 after my then girlfriend thought the Montblanc her father suggested was too much money. C'est la vie, please refer to attached column I wrote for Pen World magazine, posted here with the editor's prior permission. (See, now we're back on the localizer, talking about pens).

Photography has always been my life, and writing with a nice pen has been for the last forty years. The black paint finish wears much more nicely than chrome. Remains to be seen how the Jules Verne pen will wear compared to "precious resin." B)
