What's Your Most Recent Addition To The Flock In 2017?

Thank you. I will try that. The piston has been working. I didn't know the pen would come apart so never tried. With the M800 Red striped that I let the ink dry up inside it, I soaked the whole pen in the sink & the striped part slipped. One night I got mad that it was 'deformed' so I put it in the sink in really hot water & was then able to slip in back in place. I'm trying to be more careful this time. I don't let ink dry in pens any more. Live & learn.

Experience can be expensive, but it tends to sink in deeper and last longer than book-learnin' :D

A green/black M151, which I take to be a 170th Anniversary edition (according to Pelikan's Perch M150 page).

Also, just this evening, purchased a brown tortoise. Finally! YAY! The ad listed it as an M400 but I believe it's actually the M250 Levenger (again going by Perch info) as it has derby cap, double cap trim rings and piston trim ring.

I think this should be it for a while.

You are right, that sure sounds like the Levenger edition. Those are hard to come by; kind of regret selling mine at times...

After M400 Brown Tortoise and M400 White Tortoise, I have also recently picked up M800 Stresseman and M800 Brown Tortoise, the latter being nearly as expensive as first three combined. With these four I think I will not be acquiring any additional Pelikans this year anymore. Probably. Maybe.

There were 2 up on ebay a month ago; one of those, too, was listed as an M400 but one of the pictures included a shot of the box which had "Levenger" emblazoned across the top. I was then involved in bidding for the black M300 and also the 1st auction on the M151 so I couldn't see going for a third pen at the same time.

My Pelikan M405 Stresemann ef arrived today. If I had seen it in person I probably wouldn't have purchased it. I don't really care for the shade of gray. But it is for writing so it will be used. This is my 9th Pelikan & 1st in 400 series.

Oh I want to get that pen. Can you post some pictures and say more about your writing experience?

I don't have a camera. My house was broken into & all were stolen. But it like just like all the ads.

That's the Levenger, all right. Congratulations! I have a 14C Italic Broad nib in mine, inked with Robert Oster Orange Zest.

Thanks, I really lucked out. This one has an F nib (the 2 last month were both Ms). Seller mailed it out today. I'm so excited! The hard part will be figuring out what ink to use.

VERY nice! What a great gift. Congrats! Do those stripes have as much subtle depth and color as I imagine them to have?

Wow! The pen looks so splendour & grandious. Congratulations on the acquisition and also on your graduation. The sight of your pen makes me thinking deeper to have it. Oh no..

Congratulations on your graduation and on the beautiful pen! It's quite appropriate for such an occasion. Enjoy it in good health!

Well, I've been remiss....

Got photos taken of the two M405s in April, but didn't get them downloaded from my phone until recently, and then, well, just plain forgot....

So here they are: fpn_1497205238__m405s_posted.jpg

I have been rather extravagant and a beautiful new pen arrived very recently from BillP who advertises in our classified section. Now the pen was made for Regina Martini, who called it "The Vintage", and the question is: what is the connection with Pelikan (there <is> one!)? Certain academic devotees of the brand might know and those who watch the classified section closely might remember the advertisement...

I shall try to post a picture soon; but research will not be difficult...

Thank you! Indeed, the stripes seem uniform from a distance but as one gets closer you see the delicate intricacies within the raden. Very beautiful and I'm very pleased with it!

Thank you so much! I bear no responsibility for any thoughts of temptation ;P
