Happy Lunar New Year to everyone! We've had a very red week! For Week #5 we are doing New Kid on the Block: show us your most recent purchase(s)!

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Week #6 is going to be Go Large: Choose the largest bottle from your collection.

My newest ink came this morning. Nothing fancy, but the previous week's Rekindled Love topic got me thinking, and I remembered that I used to use this ink exclusively for years. But I think because I only ever used it in cartridges, I had consigned it to the depths of memory - BBI (Before Bottled Ink). So, welcome home, Sheaffer Skrip Purple.

Nice colour. When I first returned to fountain pens (about 20 years ago) I only ever used Waterman Purple in cartridge form, but I prefer this colour.

Once again, my pics don't do the ink justice... I need to find a new location and learn to FOCUS!

Bottle bought for £10.25 delivered via eBay just before Christmas.

(Some minimal research revealed that that the tattoo is meant to be The Lord's prayer written in Aramaic . . . only Aramaic is read from right to left, and the tattoo wasn't written that way making the words all kind of gobbledy gook - I like the patterns though  )

I didn't think about using my fourth purple mix until reading this thread. For those who don't know, my scanner has never been able to accurately capture reds. They always wind up darker and with extra blue undertone. And yeah, it's the same ink I used for last week. And I did get the 1.0mm stub; it's just that I'm not getting much line variation out of it. I have to try some drier inks and less spongy papers.

Hmm, the diluted colour looks drastically different!

I wouldn't believe you didn't have Ricky-cha until now, Tas! I thought you've had it since forever! (Nice drawing btw!)

Great one! I'm lucky enough to have some Northern Twilight as well!

Sorry no fancy drawing!

Not exactly my kind of colour. It kind of reminds me of R&K Sepia, but I think RKS is somewhat greyer.

I like the shading. Say hi to Jean-Pierre for me!

I was an early Brown Algae and Cigar adopter. Didn't know of Ricky Cha at the time

I do think I'm all murky green/browned out now. Hunter Green, Salamander, Pea Green, and the Sailors are plenty o be getting on with . . . I think
