Fabriano For Notebook Making

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and was hoping you guys could help me out with a new found hobby. I've recently retaken up writing with fountain pens and now I want to jump into the world of binding my own notebooks, it's fun and I get something really nice at the end. I've done a test run of all of the paper I could get my hands on so far and my favorite is the 85 gsm bioprima paper found in the Fabriano EcoQua notebooks, the problem I am having is I dont' know where to get just the paper. The EcoQua notebooks seem to be everywhere online and in local art stores but I can't for the life of me find a US source for the paper itself. The closest I have found was a bookbinding store in the UK known as Shepards but I would really like to avoid paying $30 in shipping to get paper. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the paper?

Try John Neal Booksellers. https://www.johnnealbooks.com

They sell individual sheets of Fabriano watercolor paper, although I don't know if that's a good price for it. Seems to be 100 lb. and 140 lb. hot press paper, and 140 lb. cold press paper. If that's not what you're looking for, you might contact them directly.

No affiliation other than that I know a lot of calligraphers who order stuff from them.

I have some journals commissioned from a friend that I think were made using Fabriano paper. The advantage of getting them from her was that I could talk to her about wanting something relatively FP friendly. (I really didn't need all three -- the use for the small one could just as easily be done with a piece of paper on a clipboard, and the largest one was a gift from my husband, which sat for a long time while I tried to come up with an appropriate use for it (it ended up being used for doing The Artist's Way creativity course).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thanks for the suggestion! I sent them an e-mail asking about the specific paper that I am looking for. I'll report back whether or not they can get it for me.
