I just saw that the Jinhao 159 is available on eBay in a stainless steel finish. Looks attractive.

I just could not resist adding my pens, namely a silver-colored Jinhao x159 next to a x750 pen. They both look and feel fantastic.

Hello OCArt,

Thanks a lot for posting this...... another temptation! I had blissfully written off the 159 b/c of its size and weight, but this may be one I can't refuse.

The X-750 in brushed steel, (shown above by Frank), is one of my daily carrys.

Yip, me too.

I've managed to continually avoid the 159 because of its shape, but I can resist no more.

It looks brilliant.

I have one, in Basic Black. It is a large, heavy pen, but because the section is relatively thick (12.5 mm) it feels more comfortable to write with than you would think.

I already have the X-750 in Brushed S/S, it is so tempting to add the matching 159...

It looks to me more like it's a pearl paint finish rather than a stainless finish to me.

Frank66, is there any way you could check inside the barrel to see if it's gold coloured on your one? If it is, then it's simply another painted finish colour on the standard brass body. It is a nice colour, whether painted or stainless though.

Still not sure I like the size of the 159 & I know I don't like the cigar shape (despite reluctantly liking the X450).

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard. It looks to me that the metal parts of the barrel are stainless steel colored too. Please find below pictures of both my x159 and x750 silver pens.

If I am honest I don't like this steel finish.I bought the x750 thinking it would be polished bare metal but it is laque. That miggt be asking too much for a £2 pen but I think the coloured ones look better. I like the 159 though. It resembles a Meisterstuck to me. Unposted the weight is no problem and it allows one to write well with no pressure on the nib.
