Seiran (晴嵐) means "blue orchid." Sei also means "star," which makes it even more applicable for an orchid than the standard ao/i would be. Speaking of...青藍 (ao ai) translates to "blue indigo."

From the examples, it seems like both terms fit this particular ink.

 

Too bad about the drying out. That's a deal-breaker.

 

Fun note: I'm sure Japanese punsters could have loads of fun with the other meaning of the phonetic ai, which is "love," or of "ran," which also means "chaos." Hence the title of the Kurosawa film.
