It could be a Guider, so as long as you like the pen I'd say there is nothing to worry about 👍 Many Indian penmakers offer similar models.

It's just that I found it very similar to this Woodex model 17. Will share a pic below.

They look like the same pen to me as well. Thank you for the photo and information.

Thanks for the info, Ill try to hunt one down. Now that you say it, I recall posts from hari317 with zimbo in this green.

I recently enquired with Mr Rao of Guider reg Zimbo color options for some custom push caps. He gave me just 4 options 3 rippled and one black. Apparently he has run out of the solid color shades which he had in the past namely the brownish red, the tota green, the navy blue/dark teal etc. That’s what he told me. The solid red was never my favorite. A highly misleading shade pics vs reality. The green I like and have a few. The blue is also a decent shade. Maybe he still has some old stocks of already made screw cap zimbos in older rods. You can enquire with him.

You have to see the dimensions. Woodex used to publish the dimensions. I have uploaded a file somewhere on fpn in a Woodex thread. Guider has made a variety of models. The type of clip on your pen usually should have guider stamped on it in a serif font. The stock nib would be marked Guider or Star etc.

Currently inked: Guider Giant Bespoke

This is also the biggest pen in my collection (180mm capped, 162mm uncapped).

Thanks for the suggestion, but my searches for the file proved fruitless. The clip is not stamped, and the nib is an Ambitious fine.

There are two files in this post. The files are old but probably they are still of some use.

Thanks for the information. It has been a while since I spoke to him, at that time blue swirls was my best option. Plp had a few solid colors that i liked, so I got a few from them.

Thank you for the link to the old thread. My pen does, indeed, match the measurements for the Woodex 17. Regardless of whether it's a Guider or Woodex, I'll continue to use it with pleasure.

Great! It is most likely a woodex looking at the cap trim ring and unbranded clip.

Currently inked: Mohan Jumbo

It's an eyedropper pen with approx 8ml ink capacity, which is the highest capacity among all my eyedropper pens.

Holy moly, 8 ml ink capacity! Do you fill it to the brim and run it dry, or do you just do a partial fill for a few days of writing with these jumbo pens?

Lovely pen and a great photo too. The mohan in this photo looks best in this photo. Looks like a lot of threads. They look really well made too. How many turns to uncap?

Largest ink capacity in my pens is currently woodex 63. IAM waiting for the gama kambhar. It might give competition to the 63🤞

I fill it fully. It takes a month or two to finish the ink, alongside my other pens 🙂

Thanks. Yes, it has lot of threads. Takes about 5-6 turns to uncap. But the threads on this aren't as smooth as they should be. I applied silicon grease on them earlier to make it smoother. Apart from threading issue, I love this pen. It also has a closed section design not found in today's pens. You can see the pics here

Look forward to seeing your Gama Kambhar 👍 That Woodex 63 is a lovely beast too.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my pens, too, can go for a month or two to finish the ink when used along side with other pens. Now, I don't feel so bad.

But for me this pen is the exception Sir, and it's the only one that takes so much time to empty ☺️ Otherwise, those other Indian eyedroppers never last that long.

Currently inked, PLP Jumbo Ebonite, friction fit with a Wingsung #8 nib (OM-right footed), the feed is the usual 6.3mm ebonite one. The exposed nib length is similar to MB 149 or Wingsung 630 ~27mm. Have a nice rest of the weekend and a great week ahead!

That green/yellow ripple ebonite (with its black specs) is my all-time favorite of all the ebonites in my collection!
