UPDATE:

Mr. Kandan just confirmed that Ranga Pens has discontinued dedicated eye-dropper pens. I am kind of bummed out to hear that, but they know their customer base best.

So, who still makes the best-dedicated eye-dropper pens in India?

Thanks,

Tommy

Again I concur with @rnjn. It's subjective. In my experience my list would comprise

1) woodex for quality finish and aesthetics

2) plp for affordable pens with the 40mm nibs. Excellent customer service and robust pens.

3) Deccan for sheer legacy and beauty. But a little hard to procure one. They prefer in store pick up.

4) gama for again affordability, robustness and customer interaction.

5) guider are the best in business in making girthy pens. Lovely balance and finish. They do offer ed and cartridge converters.

I rarely use ED pens, but inked up my Gama Eyas today as it's such a classic pen in matte black and silver/chrome clip. I loaded it with some Camlin Royal Blue. I have some Krishna inks on order from Pen World.

Some day I hope to find a vintage Ratnam pen and load it with Sulekha for a Swadeshi experience.

I just pured some milk in my Assam tea, and am set for some serious writing. Have a good week everyone!

Most days I use my Mag 600, I still can't believe this this is made in here. Really beats my 146 flex under the table.

I have three inked currently.  A Guider Capsule (B), and two Ranga's. Both Peyton Street Pens exclusives. The Zayante Z2 (1.1) in red/black ripple ebonite and a Monterey (Architect Broad)in orange/black swirl.

Didn't use the Guider today. It is inked with Birmingham Emerald Fusion,  Zayante with Birmingham Gerbera and the Monterey with Birmingham Guppy.

That's a great combo. Have been eyeing the capsule for a long time. Not yet made up my mind. My inked collection is a gama commander with Waterman black, a woodex 39 with gem blue from Sulekha and a Deccan mp with Waterman black

I am currently using my Kanwrite Emperor, Medium nib with Waterman Harmonious Green. I really like the way it writes and the ink works well with the pen.

I also just inked my Kanwrite Desire EF with Waterman Tender Purple. Previously, it had been writing with Pelikan Intense Black and the overall effect was a bit too dry for my taste. Happily, the Waterman Purple seems to be working a lot better.

I am also considering getting a clear demonstrator pen, but haven't decided which one to get yet.

Nice combo. I recently checked out the noir versions of the kanwrite desire and emperor. They were really good. Also in my recent forays into clear pens, I liked two demonstrators mainly.

1) plp demo - slightly large pen for many. But excellent pricing and great finishing with very less tool marks.

2) Ranga makes great demonstrators. You have a variety of models across sizes. But more expensive than plp.

That does look nice. I was also eyeing the Kanwrite Heritage Crystal demo, but branching out into other brands might be interesting.

So far, I am really impressed with the Kanwrite nibs. My Desire EF is noticeably finer than my Platinum Plaisir or Pilot Metro F nibs, and the Japanese are pretty well known for their fine nibs.

PLP looks really good to me. Ranga is a bit outside my budget at the moment however.

I recently saw Kanwrite adding more colours to heritage, desire etc. They looked very pretty with black nibs and cap bands.

IAM a great fan of their nibs. I too find their fine nibs exceptional. I love their BB and stubs too.

I would say try a plp demo

So I have not managed to get a PLP pen yet, their website is giving me issues. But I did get a Kanwrite Crystal and Click Demo pen.

Both are good, the Kanwrite is superb. I am very impressed with it.

Also, I have a question - does Kanwrite make the nibs for other Indian fountain pen brands? Because the nib on the Click has the exact same sort of ornamentation I have seen on Kanwrite pens.

Wow, these are good looking pens. Where did you get the nib on pen n°3 ? On Ranga's instagram they just have the normal nibs.

Is it a Magna Carta nib ?

My guess is that kanwrite is the OEM for many companies. For example click president has the same feed as kanwrite heritage, desire etc. I feel gama nibs are made by kanwrite. Ranga nibs too etc. When I see the nibs of kiko, epitome etc iam very much reminded of kW.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I would love to try out more Indian-made nibs as for me the feel of the nib is the single most important criteria for liking or disliking a pen. The looks of the pen come after that. I only make an exception for inlaid or inset nibs which I think are the most beautiful.

So are there no other Indian nib-makers?

There's Ambitious whose JoWo compatible nib units are available online. Not sure if their nibs are otherwise available directly.

There's also Abhay Pen Agencies who make their own nibs for their Mohi pens.
