An old Deccan Advocate with aerometric filler. A nice pen and a nice writer as well.

Ranga Bamboo with Jowo 1.1 in premium ebonite. One of my favorites. Always have KWZ Iron Gall Blue #5 in it.

Wow!  That is some of the most beautiful ebonite I have ever seen!

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

This looks like a nice girthy pen based on the section diameter. Can you share an uncapped pic please.

Thank you very much. I like pens like this one which have a simple basic design 🙂

it’s a customised pen to fit a screw-in nib unit, is ink dropped and cap opens in about 51/4 turns.

preferred hard vulcanised rubber.

was made quickly with the available raw hard vulcanised rubber, hence the basic design.

the original length was more than 170 cms and without the clip.  as a shirt pocket clippable pen was preferred, the length reduced to 165 cms, clip installed and followed a simple ink filling method to hold comparatively good volume of ink.

thanks

Good to know they offer such customisations 👍 Not every penmaker is open to make changes in their product when you ask for it.

Quick update: Just ordered the clipless model of this pen from them. Couldn't resist it 😅 Thanks.

pardon, for a little lengthy note!

am afraid, me didn’t make it appropriately clear

the customisation = of,  screw-in-nib unit

had a particular screw-in nib unit and wished to have a pen (ink dropped) made for that nib unit.    therefore the section of the pen was manually turned to fit the particular screw-in nib unit. in short, the customisation was to accommodate the particular nib unit.

regarding the making of the customised pen:

the facts were communicated over telephone and email, based on which p l p   suggested two fountain pen models on which the customisation could be carried out – the above hard vulcanised rubber (original length more than 170 cm) and another  acrylic-ebonite model which was about 160 cm long.  as hard vulcanised rubber pen preferred, the same was customised.

the pen was completed pretty fast and if analysed which event took more time in this entire process, it was the despatch time for the nib unit.

hope, if willing to wait, the pen could have been customised in other designs/forms as per their product brochure.  the desire to have a fountain pen for this screw-in nib unit was a little lengthy one (a decade and quarter long), hence did not explore much on designs/forms, wanted a simple good writing instrument.

and finally, regards to  sri.  hari    (for an article on subject matter,  about more than a duodecennial back)

thanks

Ok 👍 Had a chat with them today. They told me they can make that pen for any length, with clip or Clipless. Have ordered 2 different pens. Will share the pics once I have them. Was very pleasant experience interacting with them.

Cleaned out this Mohan Jumbo Pen today. It's an old style eyedropper pen with a huge 8ml ink capacity.
