That's a nice one. Gold?

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

I am planning to use a smallish MB 252 with a stub Flügelfeder.

Still, the ever trusty Meisterstück 149 with a BB nib.

Sorry, I am so bad at files attachment. Might need to do some file adjustments/conversion first to show in the post.  😅

Edit: Wow, that actually took longer than necessary, and somehow more effort from me just to upload the photo than usual, haha. *ashamed*

It looks like your MB is watching MB porn. 😉

This finally arrived!

It's the Great Character Homage to JFK Special Edition in Bordeaux.

This is a beautiful pen. Almost too much so to use as a daily. I cleaned and flushed it out but have yet to ink it.

So it's a medium nib. All but three of my MB pens are medium. I have two in fine (or EF) and one with a custom ground OB nib. That leaves six in medium. Ugh! I might get one or two of them with custom ground nibs. It's just difficult to decide which pen(s) to do it with. And which grind(s) to get. Although I'd like an OBBB dedicated for signatures. I'm not sure if I'd like an architect nib or not. I really want a calligraphy flex.  I'd possibly like a journaler in something closer to a 1.3 mm for letter writing.

Here's the rest of the somewhat growing MB family so far.

Wow! The JFK homage in bordeaux/burgundy is a beaut. I acquired a 146 in the same color last year and I love using it.  You certainly have an enviable collection. It reflects discerning  judgement and taste.

I am also struggling with "to grind or not to grind."  I have a black 146 with a broad nib and it's kind of blah. I am leaning toward turning it into a stub. I also have a Hemingway with a medium nib and I wish it had a bit more defined line, but I am reluctant to mess with it.

Thank you for allowing us to see your collection.

I am glad to have a place to share my passions. There are many great members here that have amazing collections. I am continually thrilled by the incredible pens I get to see on FPN.

One of the things I like about MB pens are the writing experiences I get with their pens. When I got my 146 with the broad nib custom ground I worked with Gena to maintain as much of the Montblanc feel as possible while getting the grind I was seeking.

I have several stub nibs from other manufacturers and, as much as I do enjoy writing with them, at times, they are more scratchy than I prefer. Which is something I wouldn't want on a MB pen. I do have an Esterbrook Estie with a Journaler nib and it is the best compromise between a stub and "regular" nib I have experienced so far. If I were to get a journaler nib on a MontBlanc, I would want it to be somewhere around a 1.3 mm so I can get the extra line variation the journaler tames down over the stub while providing a smoother writer.

Baka, thank you for your comments and advice on grinding a Montblanc nib. I am going to contact Gena at Custom Nib Studio and get that broad nib worked on.

Please keep us updated. Gena does good work. It takes about 10 weeks round trip because of her schedule to get the pen back.

I can finally post my Montblanc here - a 146 I bought from a local guy who inherited it. I've had it for a few years and finally got around to sending it in for repair; the piston had stuck to the barrel and the feed was mangled so even though I tried, there wasn't anything I could do to fix it.

I'm guessing it has an OBB nib, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Filled with Monteverde Yosemite Green.

How do like writing with an oblique? Do you notice a difference as compared to other non-oblique nibs?

I don't find obliques to be much different from writing with a non-oblique nib. The angle of the thin stroke turns a little more vertical which, for me, isn't better or worse than a normal B or stub nib, just different. Although it may allow for thinner writing? I'll have to test that. What I really want to try is a right-foot oblique since I tend to turn my pens slightly clockwise by the end of the line.
