Purchased a 149 75th anniversary in rose gold for a special milestone.

My first ever 149, that nib is eye-catching.

The pictures are not mine, grabbed from fpn.

Cannot wait!

Edit: whoops, wrong thread.

I dont usually post my pens, but when I do, I ward off evil spirits. My wife brought home Halloween decorations from which I recognized would fit a 149, this an early 60s body with split ebonite feed and newer 14C OB nib Frankenpen. How appropriate.

NOS Proust F that is not NOS anymore, inked with noodlers blue/black ink. The nib appears to show the slightest hint of skipping. Please see the c in cowardly. Any idea if heavy everyday use would potentially rectify this ?

It will.

I just flushed my Poe, and replaced it with my Verne, inked with Diamine Aqua Lagoon.

It was several months I had not inked it; good to have it in hand again.

Not my favourite nib, but I love its weight and the beautiful material it is made of.

The Jules Verne image with handwriting sample is terrific!

It's the first photo I've seen which fully brings out the pen's beauty.

I'm sorry that the nib isn't the best.

Judging from the handwriting sample, it perform well for you.

Thank you for posting the photograph.

146P Fritz Schimpf Special Italic

149 B

I'm glad to know that your 146P Fritz Schimpf Special Italic is seeing use.

After it was initially offered, there wasn't much further mention.

Recently I'd wondered how those who added one to their writing desk felt about the model.

I've never seen, much less written with a 149 B.

Perhaps it's time to consider one in 2020.

Tom--

The Fritz Schimpf Special Italic is one of my favorite MBs. The nib is tuned perfectly, with excellent flow. I don't know if any of these are still available, but I strongly recommend this pen if you can get it.

As for the 149 B, it is an older pen with a 14K nib and a split ebonite feeder. I am tempted to have it reground to an OB, since I have little use for regular broad nibs, but it seems a shame to make any changes to such a fine writing instrument.

Best,

Jay

Thank you Tom for your kind words!

The nib is good of course - it's a Montblanc nib! Just that I like a smooth nib and a bit of flex, and that particular nib is a little stiff.

It's probably just craving for more use
