That older turquoise ink can be a pain to clean out so just a friendly reminder not to let it sit in your pen too long.

Thanks for the heads up! Will flush it over the weekend and ink it with the homer LE ink.

I’m using my MB 147 traveller with gold trim.

I like c/c pens but this is very light. I would like

a bit more weight . Would a piston filler feel

more substantial ?

Serious size there! How are they for precise lines? Greg grinds the business ends differently from what I’m used to. MB tends to have a trapezoidal shape on the bottom of the tipping.

No. 6 Coral Danish button filler, with a fine flexible nib, filled with Akkerman Delfts Blauw.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

@Ghost Plane

as compared to my factory O3B there is a lot more tipping material to play with.

the ends are trapezoid-ish

I had to put them to a little mesh to bring them to my taste but they got there easily, beautiful line variation, you can see some lines under the pens with brown ink. It is newspaper so the paper quality is poor of course, ink spreading on the lines of the line and all, but you can see the line variation.

Black MB 144 extra fine, late model. A very useful pen. Pelikan 4001 green ink.

Today I compared these pens and will release a video showing the comparison in the next few weeks:

One pen performed less optimally than the rest, take a wild guess which one it was!

It was in fact the Andrew Carnegie, it doesn't seem to like writing vertical lines!

Perhaps a little tweaking is needed.

Lovely selection. Do you have any more LE models?

I'm sure a good tweaking would sort it out.

I also have a Starwalker 100 year special edition with the diamond star as well as the Airbus A380 Skeleton fountain pen.

Airbus A380 Skeleton fountain pen.

Is that the 18K white gold and diamonds, limited to 380?

IIRC, it is the only pen with a 'sort of hooded nib' design. It is a nice effect since it is not entirely 'hooded'.
