What Mbs Are You Using Today?

Here’s my lil’ cutie that just arrived today. I was surprised that a local BMW parts dealer had one in stock. It tickles me that it has a parts number! It needs an italic grind of some sort, I’ll take it to Kirk when he comes into town later this spring. I’m using a Midnight Blue cartridge for her first fill. I love thread to post pens, and the barrel material is really tactile.

I got a few out of the drawer to check corks from top to bottom a 242PL, a 142 green striated and a 142 where the black colouring has worn off the celluloid. Still works nicely though.

Using my Noblesse fountain pen today. Writes very smooth. IMG_0791.JPG.3c2b9f3d6491d96f416c5be81fb3ece5.JPG

In use, in my pen stand is an MB 14, in one of my couple desk pen cups is my MB 254 and MB 32.

In those latter two and my Gena 725 balance so well, they will be used until empty first, out of my 16 pens inked.

My second Montblanc is arriving today, a 146 with a M nib. The other is a fine but it’s on the Heritage Noir, beautiful pen but to me uncomfortable after a little while of writing.  Wonderful nib though and really looking forward to the 146!

I’m still writing with my BMW Starwalker M, with a Midnight Blue cartridge. It’s a fun pen!

Current model 146 Platinum with an early 50's 14C OM.

Add lightness and simplicate.

CMD, the 146 shouldn't be toothy. It should be butter smooth.

Check to see if the tines are misaligned, that often happens to mailed pens.

A display box is for display, not mailing it through a jungle of rabid mail robots competing against football crazed humans, seeing which can kick or throw the package the furthest.

Ron Goulet (sp) packs his goods so they could be dropped out of a B-52 and not get the tines, jarred out of line.

It's new (to me) pen day, and I'm loving it! I was intending on inking it with Dominant Industry's Fishermen at Sea, but the pen, yes a Hemingway, wanted a nice blue-black, so Pilot it is. I can't get enough of this pen 🙂

Congratulations!  I will go back to try a vintage looking B/B ink, and alternate with a color which coordinates with the barrel.  Enjoy your writing.

I'm running a 234½ BB on the same ink!

Good combination.

It's a wartime steel nib (one of the best writers I have).

Awaiting delivery of Kaweco Pearl Black (my first) which will replace the Pelikan when it runs out.

I've heard good things about it. It will be the next fill on the 234½.

Mine's post war 14c and writes wet. So for now I'm staying with the dry ink.  I'll check the Pearl Black reviews.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Used my Blue Hour Solitaire all this week, inked with Blue Hour. What a pleasure!
