My Montblanc 149 Extra Fine cira 1970s is being fitted with correct era replacement feed.  Today it is my most favorite fountain pen, 149 Calligraphy Flexible Nib Special Edition. It comes in the original box marked "7/19."

You are right!  The nib has an amazing patina.  I am wondering if you picked this 149 mainly because of the tri color nib instead of the later 1970's two color nib.

While this tri-color nib is more beautiful than the two color nib, I bought it simply because it was the only 149 a seller who I know in my local flea-market had at the time and he was asking a reasonable price. It was a decision that I haven't regretted in the slightest, this 149 will stay with me forever 😉

Here is the latest one that I am using and I love it. it is the Montblanc The Origin Solitaire Legrand 146 Fountain Pen - Coral (Meisterstück) fountain pen (#6 Medium nib). The pictures speak for themselves, and it writes even better! I am thankful for this blessing from God. (and no I didn't post it, just set it so that one can see the full pen)😀

This arrived earlier today. I just inked it up with Coral. The nib is incredible, nicely springy.

it is only with F nib for this.  wanted a M nib but this F nib writes fine for me somehow, smooth and not scratchy.

Thanks, and yes it is.  My pic of it does not do justice to how it actually look.  Will try to share a better pic taken in daylight one of these days.
