I'm writing this evening with a very nice 244G grey stripe with a marvelous extra fine nib. It's inked with MB Elvis Has Left the Building.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

my large platinum boheme is in use now. i usually rotate this with the 149 i mentioned earlier. the others are basically on a sabbatical. can i count a platinum rollerball? that's always on the desk for that odd non-fountain pen chore.

JELL-O, IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER!

How's the line variation with that nib?

I'm writing to my best friend - we graduated from high school together sixty years ago - with a 146 Burgundy. It has a medium nib that leans toward fine and I'm using sepia ink, the only other color that I use besides blue.

Which sepia ink do you use?  I have plenty of blues, but nothing in sepia has taken the place of the long-gone Omas.

Hi Gary, I am using Schreibtinte by Rohrer & Klingner.  I have been using Private Reserve's Sepia, but it doesn't reflect the look I am trying to achieve. I want something that looks like an old manuscript. This German ink is better than PR, but still not there. Maybe I need to wait a couple of hundred years to get the effect I want.

Just came in the mail about 2hrs ago...a quick disassembly and clean and lucky I have one empty converter!! A 1970s? Montblanc 225 (not the piston version). It's like a super fancy Parker 45!! The EF nib is super smooth...could become a pen for when I'm in the office?

Oh! had to shave my converter down a bit though for it to fit!

Hey,

I just bought my first fountain pen (Montblanc 32) and I want to ask if its normal to kind of leak from this part?

It doesn’t leak, but when I am cleaning it to towel or touching it, it does.

Welcome. A properly working fountain pen will have ink on the nib and feed. It shouldn't leak but will transfer ink to your fingers or a towel when touched.

Enjoy the pen.
