What Pens Are You Using Today 2017

As a change up, today is a Pelikan day: M405 Stresemann, B nib, with KWZI Chicago Blue LE. And inked up but not used yet is the M400 Brown Tortoise, with Visconti Brown -- someone gave me a sample of it at a SCN meeting a couple of months ago, when it was "Ink Trading Night".

Today I have bits of tree on my desk; Sailor quince wood matched with Platinum 3776 dark briar. Plus a 3776 Sai.

 

All Japanese as well now my Pelikan Toledo has gone back to its nest.

Brand new Monteverde Regatta Sport with Noodler's Liberty's Elysium. Looks and feels great. I like a heavier pen, but this is the only one I use unposted. Can be a reluctant starter.

I hope that's all it is. I love the pen otherwise. But I've also seen a lot of Monteverde hard start complaints.

I've been using a Stainless steel Lamy Studio XF and a Parker 51 in Navy Grey with a medium oblique italic nib (I think!).

Parker 51, Midnight Blue, M? nib -- diluted Lamy Pacific Blue. A bit of a hard start -- because the pen has not been used for about a week and a half; but then it was fine.

Pelikan M400, Brown Tortoise, F nib -- Visconti Brown.

Also, a pen and ink to be named later -- I need something water resistant to pay some bills and balance the checkbook with....

Ruth, how are you liking the Visconti brown?

It's fairly well behaved so far, and shades nicely (although I haven't done a complete review for myself yet). But I'm really fussy about browns. So I'm not sure I'd be willing to spring for a full bottle -- I suspect that there are similar inks out there, color-wise, which are less expensive.
