What Pens Are You Using Today 2017

Although packing four other pens at the time (“just in case”), I used exclusively an Aurora Mare with a medium nib carrying Robert Oster Deep Sea, which proved a nice and very suitable ink.

Tonight, I am using a Waterman JIF and my black M300. Both are inked with Petrol. The Petrol is too wet for the M300 and I want to try another ink in it but, rather than just dump it out, I'm trying to use enough that I can use what's left to top off the cartridge in the JIF.

Lamy2000f, Herbin Eclat de Saphir. For note taking. Still grappling with the sweet on this one but Herbin's good flow made things easier for me.

Esterbrook J (Mottled Blue) with #1550 Bookkeeping Nib Unit [kind of like a Western XXXF without the grinding]; inked with my 'go-to-ink': Noodler's Heart of Darkness

This is a great combo for writing in the margins of your bible or or the margins of books where you do (or may need to write really small), but with the added benefits of the bullet-proof qualities in this Noodler's most favorite of mine ink that dries pretty fast in super small or stub nibs both. These #1550 Estie Nibs I get from the folks at Anderson Pens do not write medium or large cursive very well at all because of the sharp corners of the machine ground 'needle type' nibs that Estie used in their really fine bookkeeping nibs. If interested in giving a try, let me know and I'll mail a nib or an entire pen out as a loaner for you to try. (If you have an Esterbrook already, the #1550 NOS nib units sell for $6 USD at andersonpens.com)

BTW: common Bible use on is usually my Tyndale NLT Select and Mnemosyne 195 notebook.

Today I have written with the Conklin Mark Twain Crescent; she is Black Chased and Rose Gold with a two tone Fine Nib and inked with Noodler's Bernake Black (extremely fast drying).

Hope you all have had a great day!

Super excited to be using my first Meisterstuck 146. With MB for BMW blue ink, of course.

It was a Parker day for me today:

1. Azure Blue Pearl Speedline filler Vac Debutante (?), F-ish nib, and what is in theory, vintage Microfilm Black (but the ink always had a bit of a blue cast to it, and in my Miquelrius journal it's very blue).

2. Pink Parker Vector, F nib, with Noodler's Shah Rose. I don't normally match ink and pen colors, but this is a nice combination, and I had forgotten how much I like the ink.

Pelikan M300 green stripe, extra fine. I like the way this pen handles more than larger pens. The extra fine is pleasantly smooth.

Mont Blanc Meisterstück 146 with an F nib and inked with MB Burgundy Red.

As a printer I know a great deal about paper and colours but not much about fountainpens and inks. But I´m looking so much forward to exploring this wonderful new world.
