What Pens Are You Using Today 2017

Recent acquisition. Montegrappa Extra Otto in malachite green celluloid. With all these Asian good luck symbols, I've not had such good luck with it so far. Then again, I'm not Asian. 8 sides. 888 pens made per trim. Red enamel under the clip. #8 nib. Maybe they should focus more attention on grinding nibs without baby's bottom than all this good luck voodoo. I use my pens, sheesh! Had to spend a couple hours grinding the nib so it was reliable. It's a beautiful pen though but I'm going to need to shelve it for a couple months to forget the trials and tribulations before I can really enjoy it.

Someday the mountain might get em but the law never will.........

Montegrappa Micra resin with an ebonite feed and 18kt nib. Really a great pen even at half the size! No complaints! Also pictured, larger Emblema brother.

Today it was my Sheaffer Legacy Heritage Palladium that kept me company at the office.

Like the wet, soft, slightly stubbish medium nib.

Franklin Christoph Model 02 Smoke & Ice - Masuyama Medium Stub (Aurora Black - Eyedroppered)

Thank heavens it's a medium stub otherwise it would take me forever to get through this. If I put the Needlepoint on this Hing and Eyedroppered it, I'd have to use this thing continuously to drain it.

In an old desk, I found a "pointed-end" Sheaffer cartridge pen. It is transparent green. Since the first ones were "bullet-shaped", this on must be from the late 1960's. It cleaned up nicely. I mixed equal parts of leftover black, red, and blue inks. Though I mixed thoroughly, these three inks separate in the vertical cartridge, after a few hours of pocket carry. It results in a change of ink color, in the middle of a letter page. Silly, but fun.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:

Earlier it was my Custom 823, but I've been messing around with a couple of new Kaweco Sports with some of their calligraphy nibs for the last hour or so.

Newton Pens Orville Small in Vesuvius ebonite, with architect nib. I have been using this pen everyday since I got it at SF pen show. Shawn makes some great pens.

Dream, take one step at a time and achieve. :)
