What Pens Are You Using Today 2017

Yes it is. I'm really pleased with the way it cleaned up. :)

Took about an hour of flushing and soaking, to sort out the nib/feed/section. Time well spent.

While the water was doing its thing, I gave the cap and barrel a good polish. There was quite a bit of crud so I used Simichrome, and it did the trick. There is some very light scratching, but that's usual and ok.

The nib turns out to be a Fine, and writes well enough. A very good user pen. :D

It is a really nice pen.

The work you put in is absolutely worth it

I have a pen that could use some polishing...I will go get Simichrome

Dream, take one step at a time and achieve. :)

If you use Simichrome, just be careful. It's quite aggressive.

If, for instance, you use it on gold plated clips/levers, it can strip off the plating.

I used it on this Flighter, because it is mainly steel, and the plastic parts have no inscriptions.

Parker 61, M-ish nib, with diluted De Atramentis Apple Blossom.

Esterbrook J, 2048 nib, with whatever blue ink was in the pen when I got it the other day (went to test to see if the sac was good this morning, and a whole lot of bright blue ink started flushing out of it -- no clue what the ink is but colorwise was similar to J Herbin Eclat de Saphir, a slightly violet leaning bright blue).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Dikawen 821 burgundy with white cap, with teal ink. Pen is really heavy, and really good looking, with or without cap.

It's all Greek to me...

Esterbrook J (blue), 2048 nib -- unknown (and now diluted) blue ink (wonder if I should contact the seller and ask if he knows what was in the pen, because it's a nice color).

Pelikan M400 (Brown Tortoise), F nib -- Edelstein Smoky Quartz.

TWSBI 580-al Pink, B nib -- De Atramentis Sky Blue.

Pilot Metropolitan (silver), M nib -- Kyoto TAG Kyo-Iro Snows of Ohara.
