What Pens Are You Using Today 2017

Today I loaded up a blue Aurora Optima (F) with J Herbin Lie de Thé, both new to my use. That gives me an exclusively Aurora lineup at the moment (the rest are 1950s 88s) but that will change soon because I need to add ink colours of green and maybe red.

Congrats on the Optima.

Levenger L-Tech 3.0 Excalibur filled with a sample of Kaweco Palm Green. The Kaweco Palm Green ink was suggested as a close match to Caran d'Ache Colors of the Earth Amazon Green. I never knew of that color series and missed out.

Three of the L-Tech colors are in the Levenger outlet for $49.95 instead of $99.00.

When I reach for the L-Tech I think "Excalibur!"

I thought the TWSBI Diamond 580 would be the darling of the new clutch of pens I just received, but the Jinhao 159 is turning into the breakout star. It just has more of a presence, and I'm reaching for it more than I am the TWSBI. This is only the second day with each, though.

The Pelikan...very nice!

Thanks. The nib really brings out the character of an ink nicely.

I have been collecting and enjoying this wonderful hobby for several years. This is my first post. I use my pens at work. The paper is just cheap copy paper so I like xf nibs and / or dry ink. Today I brought 2 Lamy Lxs, both xf. One Palladium and one Ruthenium. The inks are Noodler's x-feather and Pelikan Black 4001 series. The 3rd pen is a Preppy 0.3 loaded with Lamy Black. All great trustable work pens. Regards, Ron

Oh boy. Long list:

3 different Jinhao x450: Italic nib, Pelikan dark green | Fine Italic nib, Pelikan black | Medium nib, Pelikan blbk

P45 Flighter, M nib, Parker Quink Black

Picasso 915, M nib, Diamine Oxblood

Sheaffer Imperial, M nib, Diamine Oxblood

Lamy AL-Star (silver-green, EF, GvFC Hazelnut Brown) | Safari (Red, "F", Lamy black) | Safari (Petrol, F, Lamy blue)

Geha Schulfüller | 50's Staedtler piston filler (both Pelikan blbk) | nameless 50's piston filler (GvFC Hazelnut Brown)

Pentel Tradio, Pelikan violet

-

I just refilled the Imperial and then just wrote random stuff for two pages straight, because oh man, what a pen.

The Picasso 915 is still one of my favorite pens, which is not bad for something that cost me less than 30 bucks.

I got the Petrol Safari yesterday - it's great. The matte finish, distinctive color and complete lack of any contrasting elements combined with the bad lighting in my room makes it look badly photoshopped onto my desk, even in real life - like it carries its own personal shadow around with it. I love it.

Before leaving for work this morning I jotted some quick notes with a 1936 Parker Challenger (fine, firm nib) inked with Waterman Black.

Late this morning I was using an ultra-cheap Zebra V-301 inked with Noodler's Old Manhattan Black. (Not a good pen, but it actually writes better than it should)

Just a few minutes ago I was using a Parker 45 with an XF steel nib inked with Noodler's Golden Brown to fill out a safety checklist at work.
