Tbh. I haven‘t used the inflection yet.

I have that same pen (and a yellow one I've never inked). It's a great pen, very handsome and a smooth writer; the only (minor) drawback, which you can see from the photo, is how high it rides when it's clipped in your shirt pocket.

The ink is Diamine Aster.

I must say, that is a really spectacular blue. And I normally don't care much that sort of blue.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Happy Fountain Pen Day, folks! Here's a quick shot of my most recent restoration, a sweet little Duofold Jr. I had picked up one in a batch of pens that had a replacement nib and an owner (somewhere down the line) that was a real biter! I kept an eye out for another with a proper nib and a couple weeks ago found one for sale that had a severely chipped cap lip. Not much coin dropped on either pen, both from the same vintage, so the parts came together into one of the best little pens ever made. As it turns out, the pen is a fabulous writer with absolutely NO adjustment to the nib! New sac and away she went, writing a couple of note cards today. A good way to spend FPD 2017!

Lamy Al-Star twins!

Today I'm trying to understand in what conditions my Jinhao 992 shows hard starts and skipping so I'm using it more than usual. It's inked with Diamine Matador.

I flushed my Pilot Kakuno from my ink sample of Diamine Sepia and I switched to Pelikan 4001 Brilliant-Brown.

I don't know what is more lovely the pen or the view.

Thank you both. I wish I could be back on the cruise again.

Since I first saw the new Kaweco Perkeo pens at a recent pen show, I knew I had to have one (or two!) Finally I got one with an ink order, with a Fine nib, and it arrived a few days ago. I originally intended to swap the stock #5 nib to a cursive italic #5 nib, but after using the pen, I must say I really like the stock nib and will be keeping it as is! The Fine doesn't write a terribly fine line, but it's noticeably finer than my Lamy LX "Fine" (albeit Lamy Fine nibs are known to vary from unit to unit). It's got a very pleasant amount of non-scratchy feedback, sort of like a soft pencil on finely textured paper, and the writing process is quite pleasant. I like the grip section more than the similarly indented section of Lamy Safari/Al-Star/LX.

The pink barrel is more like subdued vintage peachy-pink. The gray accents and cap are a pleasant creamy color. The pen is quite lightweight and is a great carry-everywhere type. Although there's no clip on the cap, the cap's octagonal design ensures that the pen does not roll off the table easily.

Today I used it to practice long-hand writing, as mine has been suffering from inconsistent letter size and inclination, and I feel like I need to go back to first grade writing lessons :) The ink is lovely Noodler's Walnut, great shading even with this fine nib.

That's the only Perkeo model that doesn't hurt my eyes by the way.

Also, that hand writing looks perfect, what are you stressing about?

Thank you, it looks bad to me: crooked and nonuniform, especially if I write quickly. Just need to practice more.

As for the Perkeo pens, they are more subdued in person. I also like the Old Chambray colorway, which is cream with muted teal.

A classic today. Not flashy. No gimicks. A green striped Pelikan M1000 of a good vintage with a PF medium nib. Ink is Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. The pen has been seen here plenty of times but you just don't tire of a classic. It writes well and no doubt about it, you know you are writing with a fountain pen when you've got this in your hand.

Max Dog,

What a beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing it

Praxim,

I like those pens!

The pen I'm using this afternoon:

‘Translation’, probably most needed:

Today I am using this pen, about which I know nothing at all!

Not its brand, model name, age or where it’s from.

As you would expect; it has a rather fine nib, and no flex at all.

Inked with Diamine Grape
