For me, this is an all around winner. An utter joy to write with and even better to sketch with. I can't recommend this pen highly enough.

Pen: Namisu Nova with its dreamlike Titanium EF nib by Bock.

Ink: A mix.

Paper: Cass Art 300gsm Watercolour.

Verrry nice Tas. So you would recommend a titanium nib?

Without a moment's hesitation.

Its behaviour is difficult to describe. Springy when you want some expression, firm when you don't.

The tipping material is probably the same as the other Bock nibs, but it has just the slightest hint of feedback. Aurora style. Never a hard start. Never a leak - and it gets carted around everywhere.

My only gripe if I had one would be that it's not really an EF. The reverse line however is an XXF so I don't complain.

You would love it . . . and then we'd get to see even more of your wonderful artworks.

I worked out at the time of purchase it was cheaper to buy a whole Namisu Nova than it was to buy the nib from Bock.

Go on . . . . . you know it makes sense :happyberet:

I debated for some time whether or not to ink this pen as it is my pride and joy but I finally caved in and now I'm enjoying it even more than before! I'm still working on my writing technique to improve and better it every day!

You'll be keeping it forever and ever, so using it is the right way to go.

Actually owning and using such a magnificent piece of art must be an incredible feeling.

Far too often such breathtaking pens are locked away, never to be used, which is such a shame.

Geez a shot o' yer pen, go on, pleeeeeease.

Or even just another look at it would suffice. :)

Beautiful!

I'm debating with myself should I get Titanium EF for drawing and here is your sketch and very favorable opinion.

Guess I'll have to spring for one :-)

Have you maybe used Pilot's FA nib? If so, how would you compare them?

Yesterday I finished an illustration with my Pilot Custom Heritage 912 FA nib:

Stunning work, yet again. I'm a massive fan

Never used an FA nib but have seen video reviews that compare it to the Falcon SF nib and depict it as very similar. I adore my Falcon. The Nova with titanium nib isn't quite as flexible (I don't think it's meant to be) but does produce a finer line. The whole package though makes for a really rewarding time spent together :) .

You'll love it.

Thank you!

Just for clarification, when you say Titanium EF produces a finer line, you compare it with Falcon SF nib, right? Not Falcon SEF?

The more I research Titanium EF, the more I'm itching to get one :-) The extreme flexibility is not that important, I'm looking more to specific softness everybody seem to love.

And I see one can get just a nib at Goulets for not much money, so I'm running out of excuses :-)

On a sidenote, that Namisu Nova seems equally interesting, but it's a shame it does not post. Looks just a tad short for long use unposted.

Yes. Comparison is with an SF, NOT an SEF.

The Nova will post (I just tried it for you) and stay posted, provided you're not flinging the pen around a lot.

I never post and have not tired with long sketching sessions. In fact the Nova is really really comfy and manages to be both a gorgeous writer of letters & note taker yet a stunning sketcher. Not too many of my pens can carry that torch.

. . . my name is Tas and I love my Namisu Nova Ti.

I'll stop now.

Thanks again!

In the meantime I found some reviews with Nova posted which agrees with your experiment :-)

Guess on their site Namisu advises against it as being all metal it might scratch the body.

Sketching a cereal monster for the kids today with my Bexley Prometheus (F) in ebonite and a cartridge of Diamine Saddle Brown. Now I'm also going to write a letter with it ;)

Fun and impressive work!
