I'm laying down the lines with a parker Duofold Centennial (F) here for WorldWaterColorMonth2017.

Ink is Diamine Terrakotta which blends in nicely with the Van Gogh watercolours.

Also I noticed the paper of this not very expensive Canson Sketchbook - 100g/m^2 - is extremely nice to use with fountain pens. Maybe the next time I'll get one of these for notetaking also.

I am using my new Pilot Vanishing Point in Blue Carbonesque. I have used my mustard VP for about 8 years, but the nib on the yellow one now seems to dry out overnight, perhaps a bad seal on the nib door. They both have an 18K medium nib, super smooth and a little soft.

Try washing out the pen - not the nib unit part. It has happened to me as well and a rinse - a long rise, since it built up over the years - seemed to have solved the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try. It is soaking overnight now.

Unfortunately, you're going have to do more than soak. On the section where the nib comes out, if you have a clean nib unit, submerge the entire section and then push the nib as to extend the nib out. You'll be surprised how much ink will come out. Also, the nose cone also houses ink.

So far so good. To be honest I've not had a chance to use the pen for a long writing session. Not taken it to work yet!

Using an ASA Bheeshma with an extra fine Sheaffer inlaid nib. I reviewed this recently -- one thing I didn't say is that this is the stiffest gold nib I've ever used. Maybe the geometry of the nib design. Lays down ink reliably, though.

Just catching up, superb writing and a gorgeous pen.

I am writing with the Caran d'ache Geneve fountain pen that arrived today. Have to find my way with her, still. The first two lines are unpleasant, then she starts to write smoothly. The ballpoint writes delicious by the way.

I seem to have soaked and rinsed the section clean. The water was ink-colored after the long soak. The nib does not dry out overnight, and everything works fine. Hopefully it will be good for another 10 years.

One is a 52 1/2V in sterling silver overlay (a 452) while the other is a large model Exception.

Working out which is which I leave as an exercise for the more discerning reader. :happyberet:
