Congrats on your new (old) bird! You sure know what to do with those nibs!

That Capless/VP looks like a concealed weapon that just got used on someone! (On an ox, I see.) :P

Yeah, I can't seem to make iit work without loads of ink getting trapped in the sealing mechanism.

My mottled green & black Ranga 4C from the recent group buy. Inked with Diamine 150 year anniversary Blue Velvet.

Shown here with a Twsbi Vac 700 1.1mm stub (right now it's fitted with the original Kanwrite Fine nib again):

That is a really nice green ebonite, you'd recommend your pen?

I Love the design and two-tone visonti nibs. And that looks like a glass dip-pen above? I want to try one of those.

I love that video of the Jinhao and like your handwriting too.

Here's a sketch of my fountain pen while trying out a set of staedtler pigment liner pens.

That is a beautiful sketch of a beautiful pen

Pelikan M600 M, inked with MB Midnight Blue.

L2K M, inked with Noodlers Squeategue.

Pilot VP 18k B, inked with Diamine Oxblood.

That VP really looks bloodthirsty :)

That's how our kitchen table looks like when I'm having a few days for me alone...

Inked are the four pens from the left: Delta Dolcevita, the two Bexley Prometheus' and the Parker Centennial in big red. Also pictured my dwindling Uniball in creme white which I use for adding highlights to the ornamental sketch.

Are the backgrounds done using paint or ink? I like the images. :)

And because there has to be a pen shown in the thread...fpn_1495959615__bred.jpg

The background (and the ornaments) are done with ink and fountainpen. I oly added a bit of watercolour to the background afterwards to define the shapes a bit more. This was totally random. Also the red/orange sea anemones were done using watercolour.

Sorry, additional question. When you add the watercolour washes doesn't it make the ink bleed and run? Just curious - I'm no artist (as you can probably tell from the questions!).

Seeing as that's the second point someone's made to this effect, is there something wrong with my VP? No matter what ink goes in it it suffers from extreme nib creep. The nib has just come back from Mikeitwork and performs beautifully. But even with the original steel medium it was covered in ink. I thought it was normal.

Not sure. I have a Decimo that always has some ink on the top of the nib. In part that is because I find it impossible to wipe clean without dragging more ink out of the feed. Don't know if that classes as nib creep though. For what it is worth I am only using a Sailor ink in it for now. Works well. :)

Here's the new JIF (blue w/ black cats and white mice) with my newly arrived Lamy Petrol and a second one I've had inked with Kana-cho Midnight. I had the cat and mouse one before but somehow managed to lose it and had to wait months before another one showed up on ebay.

A close-up of the Kana-cho sheen.

And my M300, also inked with Kana-cho. I love this little guy and I love Kana-cho but it's just too wet for the pen. :(

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

That's actually a pretty good question and is not easy to answer. I also wondered about that. In the case of the moleskine watercolour sketchbook it was only slightly so. I think it has to do how absorbent the paper is and how much abuse it can take.

I would... BUT... I got it with an upgraded nib, which is not my cup of tea, too much feedback, even after tuning it a bit. So, I'd say: yes, but one, get it with the cheapest nib option and get a #6 of your preference somewhere else.

Last saturday, there was a meeting of the Dutch FB fountain pen group. We visited Appelboom pens in Laren. I bought a Kaweco Special (pictured with the Kaweco Special mech pencil I already had and the pen case Joost Appelboom very generously provided in the goodiebags he had prepared for our little event):

Whoa! I just had to sit down for a second. I was quickly skimming through the latest posts in this thread, when I thought I saw a giant orange pen lying on a carpeted staircase. A more careful review helped me see with an appropriate perspective, but I was spooked for a second or two!
