Since getting this Black Carbonesque Vanishing Point, I've kind of stopped looking at new pen purchases. Such a perfect pen for me. Paired today with the first ink I bought J Herbin Bleu Nuit. Cheers!

This pen was part of a lot I picked up. I didn't know much about it, and it provided an opportunity to discover one of the foremost Italian pen companies, which is now relatively unknown. Almost makes my handwriting look decent. The last photo is with the hood removed, and pictured at side.

I've been away for a bit and looking thru my pictures I'm still using the Conid Bulkfiller daily that I posted back in January. The only difference is I swapped out the nib for a stub I wasn't using. It turned out to be a match made in heaven. Conid Cappuccino Bulkfiller with Stipula Firenze stub nib.

I also decided to ink up a Noodlers Ahab. I just can't get the hang of gripping this pen. No matter what I do my fingers slip down and get saturated with ink. I like it, but it's impractical for a daily writer. This one has a Jinhao nib I had laying around since I felt the urge to tinker.

New arrivals waiting for me to finish my coffee so I can clean them out and give them their first inking. TWSBI Diamond 580 and the Jinhao 159 and X750. My daily driver Esterbrook J for scale.

The 400NN is new to me and has a lovely springy OBB nib. Quite a joy in hand.

I bought the ink so long ago, that I know longer know the name of the color as the bottle has no name. Some sort of Mont Blanc turquoise I think. I'm afraid the color balance of the photos is way out of whack. Use your imaginations (says the color blind guy).

Just arrived...Rotring Freeway with fine nib.

Noodler's Navajo Turquoise matches the pen color.

My unfinished, unpolished FrankenPen. Nib is a flexible BBBI Waterman 2A from a Phileas, England. Body is an TWSBI Eco.

Seems to write wonderfully!

I'm intrigued. How easy/difficult was the nib swap. I wasn't sure the Phileas nibs were even removable. I have a thing for tinkering and Franken-pens! Nice job!

My mistake. It is a Waterman 502 England. The entire nib section was salvaged: nib, feed, and nib section. The TWSBI's nib section was sectioned (about half) and jointed via acrylic (powder/liquid). No leaks. Needed to polish the nib section and the acrylic excess. Nib had a baby bottom syndrome and bent, nib was straightened, and ground to perfection. Ink delivery is a bit dry for my taste, will twiddle with it a bit more after the polish. Just an amazing pen/nib combo.

If you like the girth and weight of Eco's, there is no bound on this nib, flexes like a dream.

So nice! I prefer a modern pen with vintage nibs.

Esterbrook!

It's in my "pens to get next" list.

How do you like it?
