Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using *show* Us!, 2017

I own this Delta Israel 60 since September 2015. But as the Delta is a leverage filler with an ink sac I always hesitated to use the Delta.

But .. today .. first time and be sure the Delta Israel 60 is a marvelous pen. Great design and even greater nib.

The ink I´m using is Akkerman#8 "Diep-Duinwaterblauw" with some blue and little green shining.

Do you like it?

Pretty flexible. Does the FA nib require a lot of effort to achieve this line variation?

The Pelikan? Yes, very much. More than I thought actually. I've been so focused on nibs that are not too wet that I had overlooked the fun that could be had with a more juicy nib.

The FA nib is softer than the Pelikan and requires very little pressure to achieve what I did in the sample. It's weak points are the fineness of the no-pressure line and the responsiveness of the nib after flexing. If one goes relatively slowly then the second of these can be improved.

Thanks, kind Sir! :)

Well, I'm taking part in a little fun bit called "The Six Pen Challenge" (read more about it here). Since March 1 I've reduced use of my fountain pens to only six pens, which meant some tough decisions. Here's a quick pic I did to share this with some of the other people involved:

Super six, Jon!

What I also really like about this photo is that it gives a great perspective on the relative sizes of the pens. As I have a Sheaffer Legacy Fantasy I can now see how all of those pens could easily be usable in my big mitts. :)

As my image says, finally ran down almost all my pens so decided to swap the colors around. Have a nice Yama-budo purple in my MB 146, and have picked up my TWSBI for the first time in a while and put a new Franklin-Christoph nib on it to use it out in the elements tonight. Doing some astronomical imaging tonight with a manually debayered Canon T1i (meaning I physically removed the chemical layers on the sensor that let it see color but also drastically reduce the sensitivity - making it a cheap, great, high sensitivity full-spectrum imaging camera). Obviously I keep notes on the imaging data on my computer but I also take paper notes for the same reason all of us do :)

FYI I noticed only after cropping and processing that I left an unclosed parenthesis at the end of my writing. I was ashamed but not too ashamed to fix it and take another picture. Judge as you will :P

I'm neither into calligraphy nor do I have a cursive hand, but sometimes I gravitate towards Stubs in a big way ! Sometimes insanely . Strange is the way of this hobby. ! Out damned spot...out !

I was able to complete my Lamy Al-Star collection today when I stumbled across a "Coffee" from 2010 for the regular price in a small stationers shop in my town. I'm inking it with Cacao du Brèsil I think...

Seen it in person several times ;) Nice shots again. And - don't be afraid of lever fillers, they're not so bad.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I gave up the idea of a Falcon nib after I bought a wonderful Mabie Todd Swan, but definitely see a vintage Bird in my future.

Hats off. Your penmanship is amazing.

They have a habit of coming to pen shows with a number of pens that they refer to as "prototypes", but it is mostly existing models done in new materials. The pen at the top is a Model 45, which has been in their lineup for a while, but in a 'stained-glass' acrylic that was different, so I picked it up. I don't know if or when any of these colors will become regular choices on their site, or if this really is just testing out new colors, etc. They had a bunch of pens in very fluorescent transparent colors that seemed to sell very well. Not my style, though.
