Thank you very much Michael,

Now i need a similar star for my 35.

If you need a replica fabricated, pm me. I have the contact (somewhere) of a master referred to me by Tom W when I once inquired for the same.

My most recent MB purchase, a 234 1/2 "Luxury" edition set, in great shape with an OBB nib ;) the only downside is that its piston needed refurbishing, so it's now with Eldon Braun in Tucson, awaiting service.

it's actually my third montblanc OBB (i also have it on a hemingway and a vintage 242G), and they're all wonderful writers.

You will LOVE that OBB!

Congratulations NathanB on a fine purchase :) Can't wait to see your new nib!

I have a habit of mentally assigning a nib+ink for every pen I see.. This one I'd have done BB with Irish Green :P or OB with Burgundy Red

Thank you Pravda,

I too had a red in mind, yet could not decide so thought I'd try my luck with lucky orange, as I was yet to open it!

Irish Green is a staple, always inked up and shades exceptionally with a BB nib :)

I got a look at the Beatles in person, just the standard edition. Wasn't that impressed. The striped colors just don't fit well for me. I'd say it's ugly pretty.

That's a nice notebook. Even though I find I can only use their notebooks with ballpoints, I will still buy this one. I like the design of it

I thought so too, but someone very prominent in Montblanc let me play with it for an extended period of time because he said it grows on you and he was right!

After the second hour or so I started actually being fond of the bugger :) it makes a wonderful piece for use in a garden or by a poolside.

That's somewhat my fear, one day I'll just find I want it.

Currently though, I've got my eye on a Duke of Milan 4810.

I attended the international Beatles kick-off event and must admit that also the LE and Artisan editions need some time to grow on you as they are flashy and colorful. Very different to all other Montblanc designs as far as I can judge... For me the LE 1969 suits best.

Well, I have now gotten the fountain pen mania fever! And FPN appears to be the online place to be! :-)

Earlier this year, I purchased my first Rouge et Noir black fountain pen. The serpent and retro design really caught my eye. I found that the nib wrote somewhat 'scratchy', and the Montblanc boutique sent the nib off for servicing. However, even after servicing, it still writes scratchy.

I then purchased the Rouge et Noir coral fountain pen. I like this one even better since it has beautiful green inlaid eyes on the serpent (whereas no inlaid eyes on the black pen), and the two tone (yellow and white gold nib, in contrast to the one tone white gold nib for the black pen). Also, I think the coral colour adds more to the retro feel. Surprisingly, the nib in the coral pen writes considerably smoother.

Love the green inlaid serpent eyes!
