OBB is the way it should be. Of course, I am a proponent of Broad and abovery so take that wit a large crystal of salt. :)

I have an OM, and my exupéry is currently in the process of going to OB. I'll vote go OB. A unique pen deserves a unique nib.

~ What pwsuba has written sounds great to me.

I like “A unique pen deserves a unique nib”.

I've been impressed by handwriting from OB nibs.

I should have added my 149 is already OB, I have BB, OB, and M already covered. Do I go OM with the Exupery, or enjoy the fine and save OM for the next one...

Ah, that helps.

Have you ever considered EF?

My experience has been that EF nibs shine for a variety of writing tasks.

Just a thought...

Despite being an advocate of the broad side, I recently acquired a Fine - and am enjoying the experience.

It could be novelty value and it may wear off, soon - but, I'd recommend trying the F and see how you feel about it.

Enjoy.

Congratulations everyone for the nice purchases here.

Damn the Saint-Ex is growing in me...

On nibs; I have a couple of Montblanc Writers' pens (which I love dearly and enjoy using more than any other pen), one of which came with a broad nib.. that I had changed to a M after a while (after really trying to get used to the broad nib).

Preferences are highly personal of course, but in my case it was as much practical reasons as a preference (i love smooth writing, and have nothing against a thick line in itself); so I'll just share my 2 boring cents:

- I'm a lefty and my handwriting is ugly. I found a broad nib does not help with these (imho).

- I use my pens at work too; and if you add a thick nib on a wet writer, to wet ink, to crappy office paper... you might as well write with a paint roller.

Writers Edition Edgar Allan Poe. Best nib of any MB I’ve used.

"how do I know what I think until I write it down?"

Thanks Tom, but don’t give me more options!

I inked up the fine last night and will see how it goes, I agree that the fine nib is a safer choice on office paper. I just want an OM in my collection...

To make things more interesting for you. My om writes well enough on cheap office paper. It's a little in the wet side but nothing horrible. I'll do a quick sample when I get to work today.

I did not find a modern OM gave me any interesting line variation over an M in my testing and somewhat limited experience. However, if you later get a stub or C I grind on the OM, look out! Lots of fun ahead. :)

Congratulations NathanB on a fine purchase :) Can't wait to see your new nib!

I have a habit of mentally assigning a nib+ink for every pen I see.. This one I'd have done BB with Irish Green :P or OB with Burgundy Red

Found these, got exited, bought them! Thank goodness they were not too expensive

Nice. Where ever did you find the Leonardo? I've been searching for that after purchasing the pen. To no avail ...

This, I've been trying to find one for a few months now. Ideally I would like NIB.

Found a snowcap (star) for my MB 30, when i got the pen it had a kind of "dome", probably because the original star had fallen out.
